    Re: REDUNDANCIES AT COMET

PS Comet in Stoke on Trent was closed for refurbishment, a huge upstairs floor to double shop space.

Leicester service centre closed to be replaced by Wednesfield. Again no redundancies, all engineers transferred to the new centre.

Again, apologies for being 2 months late !!

    Re: REDUNDANCIES AT COMET

Sorry to post on this subject 2 months after last post, must’ve missed this one!

Redundancies were ALL brown goods, still taking on white.

You can stay in the depot for 2 hours if you want, most are out within the hour.

Bonus is okay if you know what you’re doing, a 90{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} first time fix is obtainable. The engineers who are moaning about bonus are the ones on about 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} = no bonus. (not you Nige…)

No such thing as a perfect job, but I left comet to go to Merloni. Hated it. Back at Comet after 18 mnths!

    Right,

If the machine is dead, but the door locks, it is defo the motor or motor connections.

If it is the temp probe the dial would still click click round as so with most other components.

The motor is the ONLY component without a fault code.

Check the motor block wiring (a small pull on each wire) if this is O.K. then deffo needs a motor

Re: Indesit WIDL 126 – Burning Smell

    Hi,

    I work for Indesit company.
Had a few widl126 where the door seal lip flips to the other side of the inner drum lip and gives the symptom you descibe. We all carry that seal as vanstock now and its a 2 second job to change (no tools req’d). If it this, its only coincidence its gone on a hot wash. If it had over heated (v. rare) you would have got a fault code.
