Re: SMEG oven light stays on

the so called *smeg denmark* is really just a reseller *witt* they have allready refused to pay the service bill (the service being performed by a service company of their choice) on the sole reason that they would not pay the service if the unit was not purchased in denmark…

    so much for eu warranty.

Im calling the danish govenrmnet consumer department on monday to settle the situation..

the bad thing is Im pretty sure Ill need a complete replacement of the microwave, it started out not being able to heat with the micro (grill ok) then i blew the fuse, now it just blinks all the time… :/

Re: SMEG oven light stays on

ok the technician came, fixed the unit

    all well

then two days later he calls up, tells me hes going to send me the bill since the danish reseller of smeg will not pay it since the unit was bought outside denmark…

so whats the deal with 2 year EU warranty!?!?

btw. turns out the SMEG Microwave FME20ex I bought the same place is faluty too :/ dang!

Re: SMEG oven light stays on

ok so another update, I had a few of my electric savy friends diagnose the unit.

the result was that the light was on due to a signal from a set of 3 wires running into the side of the unit.

we hotwired that set so now the light is only on while the oven is switched to a function.

our diagnose is that either: the set of wires goes to a thermostat that checks if the oven is ‘hot’ or: the wires goes to a ‘ovendoor- open’ microswitch.

in either case the unit it is connected to is either faulty, og connected wrong.

Re: SMEG oven light stays on

the model is named CS19-5 on the rear, the box additionally has the notation: TYPE: C9V1XX

theres nothing in the manual about any links?

the model was bought about a year ago from italy, and all should be normal 230v 50hz , as mentioned it all works, with the excaption of the light :/
