    Re: DASA II

Hope you’re having a nice time Del. 😀

I’m actually surprised, one that you worked out the Turkish keyboard 😆 and two, that you actually can see UKW as I think Trevor has blocked a load of Turkish IP blocks after the time we got hacked. 🙄

    AV,

We’ll need a lot more information than that to help you, like a model number and serial number.

    Re: Looming US Elections

And in light of the elections John Kerry has commisioned a new pen holder to commemorate the elections, a sample is shown below…

The holder is already a top seller in Iraq and is expected to be very popular in the US as well apparently.

Oh that, don’t worry about it, I’m sure that we can profit by it.

Just need a few pieces to fall into place first.

    Re: Comets current advertising campaign

Maybe common sense is starting to prevail after all in some quarters.

Having been in retail, many moons ago, it alway struck me as incredibley strange that a retailer would wish to make 17{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of £200 as opposed to 17{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of £400. Maybe I’m just a little odd or something, but making more from the sale always seemed the sensible course to take.

Of course, that did not allow for the person that had the budget of £400 to buy an extended warranty, which is a far more lucrative endevour than merely selling goods for a national retailer that can underwrite their own insurance (or maintenance scheme to avoid tax) and rake it in through that. But of course, as people that actually care about what we foist onto a customer, we’d mostly all I think, rather sell something that’s not going to give the customer grief in that period or at least minimises the chances of it. That way the customer comes back.

I remember many, many years ago the doomsayers as they were called at the time, telling us all that 5 year warranties would kill the trade and everyone poo-pooing the very notion, turns out that in many ways they were right.

It’s easy not to pay us, it’s far harder not to pay employees. 😉

It just started here Mark that’s all but I don’t see any reason not to move it over to the general forums.

I’ll have a look in the morning for you at the wiring schematic.

Rough price for a PCB/Timer is £118.50 ex VAT from memory.

I don’t know if EMW or someone repairs the timers as we only fit new.

    It will be a DWI67 Steve. 😉

If the stat is okay and the element I’d need to have a look at the wiring diagram for the machine, which we can’t give you by the way for legal reasons. But beyond that I would have to advise that you get in someone that is familiar with Smeg product.

It is possible that the PCB/Timer is goosed though, fair warning. 🙁

Yep, Antonio Merloni built intergrated 1000rpm washer and all that from memory eh!

Basic machines Simon but on occasion they do throw up some real blinders. 😕

Sounds like the old E2 to me Dave.

Check the side chamber is clear, i.e. no gunk in it as that will cause the error.

The light sequence I’ll need to check in the morning for you, or Dave will once I’m near a machine with tech info on it.

Very true, there’s been a few appliances that have gone walkabout off that site I’ll tell you! 😆

Anyway, point taken, being offered money like that seriously makes you wonder why you’d bother working for yourself.

Guaranteed money in the bank every month, holidays, a van, sickness and medical cover and a damned good salary to boot! Then you get some people basically insulting us with some of the rates they offer and wonder why we don’t want to know! 😕

    Grum,

There’s a little round bit with a sorta handle on it next to the bit you put the soap in, turn it a quarter turn and it should pop off. Put the rinse aid in there, when the container is full the little round “window” should turn black, it it’s empty it looks clear. Put the round bit back on and you’re done.

And it is a rinse aid issue by the sounds of it. 😉
