    Tack,

The machine does have an anti-balance sensor, in the module I’m afraid and it cannot be by-passed. These machines are reknowned for instability and unsuitability on wooden flooring, in particular, suspended flooring and even testing one on a wooden floor for excessive vibration is a non-starter in my experience of them. The problem is that you get (as an engineer) so used to the complaing you do get a bit blase (sp?) about it and that’s why you get the attitude from the engineer that you did most likely.

I am reliably informed that the UK is one of the few countried in the EU that don’t have concrete flooring for the most part, that’s why we end up with a system like this. On more expensive machines they tend to have better dampers etc. in them that soak the vibration up a lot better, as well as a more rigid cabinet.

As for the modules, well let’s just say I’ve replaced one or two mini SELs in my time. 😉

As the saying goes….you gets what you pays for. 😕

Let’s see if the Yanks are as tolerant of these as the UK public are. Somehow I doubt it.

You’ve got a US keyboard layout selected instead of a UK one.

Control panel > Regional And Language Settings, then adjust as required.

Shareaza is a P2P file sharing program Owain, that’s what I was asking if you had running. Any of them will eat bandwidth unless you configure them correctly.

Interestingly not one supplier has given in details for addition to the database which strikes me as absurdly odd at best. It’s FREE advertising!!

I had also pointed out that a post a month or so of special offers or whatever by suppliers was just fine so long as they don’t go mental with it and abuse it.

Same goes for actual appliance suppliers etc as well, so long as it’s industry related I don’t have an issue with it.

We’ll miss you Rudolph, but I’m sure a return can be arranged if the need arises.

    LOL at the Latin. 😉

Not reccommended without a stacking kit or some form of fixing. The last thing you want is the tumble dryer falling on top of you. 😉

If it’s available or the models your local Service Force centre should be able to supply one, or Dave may know about such things.

    Re: Miele K2214S Thermostat

LOL, indeed and one of the reasons I really don’t like selling spares to the public as the vast majority of them haven’t a clue what they’re doing with them or the dangers.

But the thing about a flat-pack made me chuckle after the mail I got the other day from a university post gradute doing a study on whether it was feasable to have domestic appliances flat-packed and self-assembled by customers. I nearly wet myself laughing at the very notion of it and thinking on the legal proffession hearing a very loud “ker-ching”!

The worst of that is that this guy is supposed to be intelligent obviously and that these people are the future. Scary.

Well I’ve actually started telling customers that we won’t accept the “avoid the school runs” nonsense, if we did we’d stop work for at least three hours a day these days! It’s seems every other customer ferries kids around the country and it takes them an hour to do it as well. 😕

Customers are very seldom right, you just can’t tell them that. 😉

I don’t do, or avoid like the plague, any timed calls at all because when you employ engineers it’s just not feasable to do it especially when you have a large geographical area to cover. You can’t guarantee the time for each call, the traffic conditions or any of the many other variables that affect our work. Quite simply the business can’t run to a schedule like that.

I will often take the time to explain this to customers and most do actually understand what I’m saying in that we either allocate a time per call and leave whether the repair is complete or not to make the next appointment or we spend the time required and repair or make as good as we can. Most customers prefer the latter idea.

I often get the dentists/doctors argument slapped back at me and I love that one. If they can offer appointments by time then why is it when you go to the doctor etc you have to wait 45 minutes or so? And dentists etc know in advance what they are going to be doing as they inspect first (which they charge for BTW) then you go back to have the work done (which they charge for again) and then you stump up for it all.

As for plumbers etc., does the expression, “we’ll be there on Tuesday, or maybe Wednesday” ring any bells? 😉

Yeah I know, having been in the US (and it applies to most foreign shores) by comparison the UK is massively expensive. One chap I know in California told me that if their government tried to tax the way ours does that public hanging would make a swift comeback…for politicians! 😆

The point I was making that due to the increases in fuel costs and the increases on tax that just a few pence a litre has risen our costs on just two vans by such a huge amount. Our pal Gordon has another 2p a litre rise planned for September which will put further strain on the costs and will, in many cases, tip the cost per litre over 90p a litre. What’s worse is that I’m getting reports from some areas that it’s already over £1 a litre in some rural areas, including some of my area so I can hardly say I’m ecstatic about it.

If you need a drum for an M3022 I’d suggest you start looking at new appliances! 😉

They usually come in about £100 or so and if that’s shot then the chances are you’ll need to replace the bearings as well while you’re at it.
