KeymasterI know what you’re saying Martin, but since I put on MS Analysis mid-January IIRC the stats show that the top click on the site is…

KeymasterAnd who said the Germans didn’t have a sense of humour? 😉
Of course they were having a laugh anyway with the prices all the year round. 😆

KeymasterHey, maybe we should try that against cancelled contracts and some customers? 😉

KeymasterInfra red thermometer for surface tests and a standard probe type for cavity tests, get one that has a -20oC to +500oC and that allows you to test fridges etc as well as pyro ovens.
Generally I’m not too fussed about brands, it’s only a label IMO, so I just get whatever I need from CPC or whoever.
It’s very rare that you’ll adjust a stat these days Martin, if you even can. In fact I think I lost my custom screwdriver for that and adjusting gas taps.

KeymasterRe: Site News & Updates
You can all look at the stats for yourselves now, but you may have noticed that we’ve had our busiest month ever this month as well as the busiest day. We missed getting the busiest hour by only a few page views.
What really did surprise me a fair bit is the fact that we’ve exceeded in three months this year what took almost six last year! Now that’s progress.

Not always as there is, just like the car spares market, that old bugbear of the serial number and production changes to consider. I know from experience ordering spares and, not just Whirlpool but they are known for it, that without the serial number or the GB number or whatever it is they want you’ve no chance! Same thing applies to virtually any German appliance known to man! 😕
In the trade we suffer exactly the same problem you’re having a fair bit, especially with cosmetic spares.
It may be possible, but you’ll have to wait for one of the Whirlpool guys or a spares retailer/distributor to answer the question properly. They will read this and look at it for you.

KeymasterHi David,
One of the Whirlpool guys will probably be able to help you better but I can tell you what the problem is there. Basically, when we see a parts diagram it is a composite line diagram, generally used on an entire range of models with only the parts for a specific model being listed. The downside of this of course is that if you deviate from the model number given there is a very real danger that you’ll end up with the wrong spares. The model number will almost certainly change with a different colour and that’s why you have the problem.
On the service side we very, very rarely actually see a photograph of the appliance, it’s usually just a composite line drawing.
And of course we have the same problem as customers do, if we get the wrong part but it’s correctly ordered then we cannot return it as a general rule!

KeymasterP,
Tecnik is just name owned by Moben so it could be anything on a model by model basis, kinda like what Comet do to annoy us with Proline. 😉
Pre-1998ish (from memory) should be Fagor and Whirlpool mainly then Bosch/Neff/Siemens after that. Rumour has it that they’re buying in all sorts of muck now and badging it up but I’ve no idea as I’ve not seen any of it as yet.
K.

KeymasterThat’s not a fair question really P as we generally have what we can beg, borrow or otherwise aquire in the kitchen, what we might choose would be very very different most likely. 😉

KeymasterSmeg spares are actually (normally) not that bad, but I’ve never replaced one of those boards in an SUK91 and A1 Opera, yes once or twice, but not one on an SUK.
I’d be suspicious though as to the reason for sale as getting one that doesn’t work does not really sound like a bargain to me.

KeymasterMoz,
For legal reasons we cannot give you step by step instructions on how to do that and, to be honest, if you’re asking from the first step then you really need someone that knows what they’re about doing the job. It is not a two-minute job and further complicated by the fact that it’s a washer-dryer and integrated to boot. Anyway, make a mistake and you’re almost certain to have one very wet floor at best. 😉
You’ll probably find that the drum shaft is goosed as well and it’lll need a backplate and drum, rough cost to repair about £200 normally incl. labour and VAT. Most likely the dampers will be fine.

KeymasterRe: Diplomat ADP8242
Can be various things but the most likely suspect is the side chamber clogged up. Clean it out well, a bottle brush is a pre-requisite for this, stick it back together and 9/10 it’ll go again.

KeymasterLOL, that’s exactly what it’s for! I’ll unlock it in a few days and post about it, then to it once I dream up something interesting to put there to get it kicked off.
Then, once I get a few other calls made this week life should get a bit more interesting. 😉
