Thanks Darrell,
I haven’t been to the job yet, arming myself before the visit.
No need to apologise, often happens. Most people call me
Lol but had to go back to Laurence on the net as everybody
thought I was laughing at them or sending them my love….Just appreciate you taking the time to respond.
Thanks.

Thanks Mike,
I have a big tube of the SILCOSET 158 that I use for the same thing – black. You’ve just given me a bit more confidence to use it.Thanks, much appreciated.

Thanks Steve.
I have checked for clear airway of the pressure switch. I did wonder about the pressure switch but am not familiar (yet) with the analogue type. I have also leaned the machine back so will be following your advice Tuesday. Thanks

Thanks Mark and Lawrence.
Not sure what you mean by alt valve, Mark? Is this just short for ‘salt’ :o).
Thanks again.

Hi Eastlmark,
Have been back and checked voltage. Easier to access than I thought and even more so with a couple of extension crocodile clip leads from Maplins.
First try and motor ran ok and was able to see which was live terminal. Cancelled program after approx 20 secs. 2nd go and the motor operated for a second, reading peaked at 159v then zero. 3rd try and motor sluggishly started for a couple of seconds, reading peaked at approx 167v then dropped to zero.
Each time, the motor responded coincidentally as a relay on the module operated. I can hopefully therefore assume the board is the culprit.
Thanks for your input..

Thanks Eastlmark,
Tried new standard (4mf) capacitor. Didn’t make any difference and motor is not humming. Difficult! Very definitely.
Trying to reason this, if 230v remained after it stopped it would likely overheat the motor or give some indication – humming etc?

Thanks Guys,
Wasn’t sure if that was the correct one for this machine as it looked like a solenoid type… Unless they have been changed.Laurence
