Re: Westinghouse Upside diown Fridge Freezer model RB501G

    OK
    I purchased part # 14131411
Gave the fridge a detail and polish
Looks great but my beers still frozen

    No change

I think a fridge is a pretty simple heat pump with the thermostat controlling the compressor.

The fridge has been in the same place for 5 years and only occasionally is the door opened
What would you advise I look for next.

    Hi Bryan
It is an SRS615DP. It is a side by side with ice and water despensers. It is Australian (not sure if same model sold in USA) The LCD sits in the housing for the ice and water despenser

Thank Penguin. That is how I determined fault 43.
Any chance you might be able to guide me as to what the issue may be

It is not noisy. It only becomes difficult to turn after you apply power and it does not, rotate. Once you free by hand again, it rotates freely.
How do you check a capacitor

Re: Fisher & Paykel ED56-U dryer. Motor appears seized

It was very difficult to rotate the motor by hand, so I turned it with the fan rotor which is much larger in diameter. The motor freed up and then turned by hand. I then ran the motor with the drum belt disconnected and it ran fine. Stopped the motor. Then went to run again and it seized again. I freed it by hand and repeated with same results. Could this be the capacitor, failing to start the motor or do you think the motor is on its way out

I have checked the drain hose and it is not syphoning. The machine is just taking an eternity to fill on cold water only wash and the fill rate is substantially slower on a hot/cold mix.

Re: Fisher & P 608 switches to hot water a few mins afte

Hot water is via a gas heated tank on mains pressure and I am sure there is very high pressures an the hot and cold. I can lift the lid slightly and see the water fill rate is very low when on a mixed hot and cold fill temperature. Perhaps the thermistor in the mixing tank is faulty. I have reset the default machine setting to cold and the machine is now functioning properly. If the thermister was faulty would the diagnostics indicate the fault.

Re: Fisher & P 608 switches to hot water a few mins afte

I checked and cleaned the mesh filters in the hoses and also removed and cleaned the filters in the hot and cold water soleniod valves. Neither were very dirty. I also checked the hot and cold water flow from each supply hose at the washing machine end and both were substantial (30+ litres per minute). I then turned the machine on. If filling with cold water only the fill rate was quite reasonable. Once I adjusted up the temperature (to any of: cold warm, warm, warm hot, hot) the fill rate slowed substantially.
    1) Do I have the correct method of obtaining fault codes as above?
    2) It would appear that the water fill temperature is controlled by a small tank which is mixing hot and cold water. Are the hot & cold solenoids either fully closed or Fully open or are they variably open depending on the fill water setting?

    Re: F & P smartdrive 608

Do the diagnostic LEDs indicate a pressure switch problem?. Where do you find the pressure swith and hose. Is it right to assume the pressure switch is measuring the pressure on the inlet water side
