I’m ex stoves, check the licon switches for the oven controls. The fan pcb takes it’s input from there, one of them, will be closed circuit.

The only faults I have ever had with the pcb’s is low voltage output causing the fan to turn really slowly

I have carried out quite a bit of work for them over the last 3 months. I get paid regularly every Monday, £50/job plus whatever I make on the parts. App is fairly easy to use. No complaints here

Update. From my local GasSafe inspector. Domestic ticket required providing I do not go further back than the isolation tap.

Re: School Gas & Electric Cooker installation work query

Just to give you a heads up as to where I am with this at the moment.
The representative of the company I used to work for, who deals with GasSafe contacted the local inspector and other officials a few years back, probably when it was Corgi. It was deemed at the time that providing the installer did not go further back than the isolation tap (In the schools I have been too, apart from the bayonet, there has always been an isolation tap before it similar to those fitted to hobs) then the domestic ticket would cover it.

He is going to re approach GasSafe and re query this just in case the regs have changed.
The main point that was explained to me that allowed this was that
    a) A school classroom is classed as a training area and those it it are there under supervision
    b) The appliances are domestic appliances and there are no commercial appliances in the mix of appliances being used.
Once i get solid confirmation I will post back

Re: School Gas & Electric Cooker installation work query

@Kaibert, thanks for your reply and yes that is my belief too, but please read on..

I’ve already contacted GasSafe on their helpline, I did that well before I posted on here, as you would have expected.. It wasn’t a very fruitful conversation He made the assumption I was talking about catering appliances and once he had that in his head it was “Commercial” all the way.
I’m still waiting for my local inspector to get back to me, that could take a while as I think he is on holiday.

So my dilemma is, at the moment GasSafe Helpline or rather the one guy I spoke to who rarely commit to anything are stating this requires a commercial ticket.
If it wasn’t for the fact that I have already carried out this type of work while working for a national manufacturer as one of their field engineers,(WITH A DOMESTIC TICKET) then I would have accepted that and walked away. I do not believe for a second that a national manufacturer would have sent engineers to do this unless their tickets covered it.
This is why I also believe I can do this with my current license.

I have looked through the Legalise of igem-tsp-17-128 up-11 ed3

which I have attached to this post and as usual I keep getting a headache looking at this stuff and do not see where it categorically states what ticket is needed.

So Kaibart, could you possibly point me to where it says I can do this with a domestic ticket.

Because as you are well aware, I need to be absolutely sure this is something I can do legally and need to know the legislation reference that backs me up on this.

    Thanks in advance

    Re: Amazon Installations?

    OR
    You can play. it smart
You add £20 to the service cost, that covers it. If you don’t get any work then it doesn’t cost anything. If you do get work, your still in pocket.

Providing everyone sticks to a + £20 on their price all is good
As a group on this forum we have large numbers and working together we have a good chance working this in our own favour.

What would you price a private installation for (Not for Amazon)

    1. Electric 32 amp cooker[/*:m:3f2u27mn]
    2. Electric range[/*:m:3f2u27mn]
    3. Electric Hob[/*:m:3f2u27mn]
    4. Gas Hob[/*:m:3f2u27mn]
    5. Gas Cooker[/*:m:3f2u27mn]
    6. Gas Built in[/*:m:3f2u27mn]
    7. Gas/Dual fuel range[/*:m:3f2u27mn]
    8. Washing machine[/*:m:3f2u27mn]
    9. Dishwasher[/*:m:3f2u27mn]
    10. Water fed refrigerator[/*:m:3f2u27mn]

Lets see if we can find an average price for each
Once that is done, add whatever we see as an average “On Top of that” for the Amazon service to cover their add on and then see if as a large group of engineers we can help fix a more consistent price for our services and beat them at their own game.

My suggestions for the Amazon Top up would be £15 or maybe £20
Installation prices may vary dependant on where in the country you are, so if you do reply to this post, add your regional area, maybe the county

Re: IZettle check your interest rates

I recently approached SquareUp and managed to get a card reader from them for £0.00.
That’s the cheapest i could get it from them (Usually £60)

My approach was simple. I contacted them made a comparison with IZettle, pointed out their card reader was more expensive and hey Bingo Free card.

Just another option to think about

Re: oven fan not working and light perm on

When you say the oven light, am assuming you mean the lamp that illuminates the oven cavity and not the neon indicator for the oven thermostat ?

Lots of assumptions here, cant really answer the question accurately without doing some electrical tests. This is not your typical fault/symptom so i think you have more than one fault that was initially caused by a short.

Circuit is normally made up of
Fan element (Most likely cause but leads to additional questions as to why the electrics haven’t tripped))
    Stir fan (Possible)
Selector switch (Likely also faulty but not the cause)
Automatic Timer (If it has one)
Oven illumination lamp (its on so it works)
Thermostat (Normally cause food to burn or under cook so can rule this out)
Thermostat neon (Can cause odd issues )
Overheat thermal sensor switch (wont be this)

Most common part to fail would be the fan element, however in normal circumstances, this would have blown the fuse or tripped the RCD, you didn’t mention that it did. However if the appliance has a faulty earth, then it is possible for the element to have blown some of the contacts on the selector switch and welded the Oven lamp contacts together, hence lamp on, oven and fan not working.
Stir fans don’t normally fail electrically, they either just stop turning or get noisy, so the fan is an unlikely culprit but a remote possibility

Selector switches if they go faulty through their own doing simply stop turning something on, they don’t normally force a circuit to be permanently on. Sounds very much like the contacts that turn the lamp on are welded together this would be caused by a surge typically caused when a fan element blows with poor earthing.

    Hope that helps

Re: Lamona Top Oven Won’t Turn I’m Until Bottom Oven is Hot

sounds like the selector switch, heat expanding the contacts on the selector switch when the main oven is on

    Re: Beko Employed Engineers?

I found out more about the Beko engineer role.
They are only employing a small number of trouble shooting technicians to deal with escalated calls. Less than 10
    Money isn’t brilliant either

    Re: Beko Employed Engineers?

I heard today that Glen Dimplex have lost their Beko contract and I also heard Beko is setting up their own servicing team.

If they pay their engineers well and look after them, I can see Glen Dimplex, Hotpoint, Hoover is gonna lose a lot of their engineer force

Re: Stoves Panache 600 SIDLm not lighting

if nothing is lighting and no click is heard when you press the ignition switch, then most likely it is the ignition generator, less likely the ignition switch itself

If it has a light or clock and the clock, light is working you have power to the appliance so you can rule out a fuse issue or wall socket issue
