ParticipantI notice that end the end of the cycle there is still a little water in the bottom of the filter when removed.
Also if I understand the cap marked salt a little water comes from this.
Is this normal, or is this the machine struggling to drain properly?
The machine is still under warranty so don’t want to take it apart, but also don’t want to miss something obvious that doesn’t need an engineer

Looking at this again now covid is ettling a little, the Haier ones are cheap and quiet, but not sure I trust the rating, 12 kg spinning at 1400rpm but is quieter than a 7/8kg Miele

Participantecosilence drive is bosch, do Miele use a similar system ?

Participantso an induction motor ?

Participantyeah both have the ecosilence drive (whatever that actually is), but the one with idos is somehow quieter. I do worry that idos might be a bit too clever for its own good

Participantwhat about a bosch at a similar price point to the Miele, https://www.bosch-home.co.uk/product-list/washers-dryers/washing-machines/front-load-washing-machines/WAU28S80GB is 72db spin 49db wash, I see it at £599

ParticipantIt’s on a concrete floor already. The washing machine came with the house, you can tell its not the most refined peice of engineering. Good to know that Miele is likely to be quietest

Participantexisting is rated at 79db, I’m not sure in practice how much I’d notice 5-7db. I think its getting louder, but it maybe more in my mind than anything. I expect I need to look more into the location of the machine, when the kitchen is redone

ParticipantTried an empty spin, which sounded fine, perhaps I’ve had a couple of out of balance loads ?
