ParticipantRe: whirlpool AKP950 double oven
Just to clarify, I received a winmail.dat attachment that contained the PDF. I’d never come across winmail.dat before ( I’ve obviously led a sheltered life) so it took me a little while to work out how to open it. Once I’d done that it helped enormously, the reason for the fault was much easier to locate.
I would just like to say thanks again to spimps for his time and all the help he gave me.Miketheleak

There is a plate on the oven but it is totally unreadable, I got the model number off the instruction book that the customer had kept. This one has got 2 oven cavities each with their own cooling fans, it has 4 toc’s, 2 at the back of each cavity. It looks like the AKP802 from the front. Any info would be very helpful.

Thanks for the info, but where exactly are the ” two screws on left of hob top”? I’m sorry if I’m being a bit dim.
(In my defense just let me say that the customers kitchen was very dark and gloomy and of course now I’m at home trying to remember what the range was like).

Thanks very much, is there any chance that you might have the circuit diagram or the service notes please?

It turned out to be simply a matter of removing the trim from around the whole oven, it’s like a picture frame and is just pushed in to clips. Once that was off all screws and fixings are visible. It can be a might stiff if its mucky though.

Sorry, I had to go off-line.
Thank you for your time, I couldn’t have wished for a more thorough answer. 😀Miketheleak

Easier said than done when it’s a big double oven in a high housing and your on your own.

But my point about me being able to test from the cooker point ie the house wiring still stands.
If I remove the cover from a cooker point and test the built in cooker from there how do I stand legally if I’m not a qualified electrician or part P registered? 😕Miketheleak
