    Re: BFV62B Not Heating

    Thanks

Do you happen to know if it is also the most likely cause of the problem or are there other possible candidates?

    Re: Hotpoint BFV62B problem

Many thanks – it was the PCB! Dishwasher now operational again. Probably spent too much on it but at least didn’t have to go out and buy another Hotpoint! – which seems to be the only make that fits the decor panel on the front

Seriously, this forum and IADOM help got me through diagnosing and repairing this fault – many thanks

(Minor questions – if you have time..

    – the dishwasher wash cycle takes forever, ie close to 2 hours because it continually stops and starts multiple rinses after the wash cycle is finished. I suspect it shouldn’t do this but it always has – is there any way of changing this?

    – The power neon flickers constantly when it is powered on whether it is doing anything or not – I suspect just a faulty neon – does it matter?)

    Re: Hotpoint BFV62B problem

Thanks again for your help with this. I ordered the spare pump and was really optimistic that this might be the final answer

Having replaced the pump, the machine starts up and allows water in for a minute or so and starts rinsing – so far so good – significant progress compared with just filling with water!

However after about 10 minutes lights one and two start flashing whilst the main pump continues to run. If I open the door and close it the cycle just continues

The water level in the bottom of the machine seems to be right – essentially it just covers the bottom of the machine

Are you able to give me any pointers as to where I go next with this, assuming its not just the nearest skip!?

    Re: Hotpoint BFV62B problem

Thanks – I don’t have a megger but have used multimeter it shows 200k ohm between motor and ground which I think means that it is shot doesn’t it? I can’t find this item on whoite goods website – I think part number is either C00077118 or 077118 – do you know any better?

    Re: Hotpoint BFV62B problem

Thanks for the reply. I have just double checked before replying. There is no sound from either motor. What happens is an initial beep that indicates something is going to happen, a longish pause with no pump running then water is allowed into the machine. This shuts off and then silence for around 10 minutes when the two lights start to flash.

NB There doesn’t seeme to have been much posted on this machine so it may not be well known. From my searches it seems to share a control PCB with the following models – so I sssume it must be quite similar to one or more of them – if you happen to know any of these rather better
