Re: Worcester 25CDI Bottom Door Spare Part

    Hi there Bryan,

Thanks for the reply. I managed to get a reply from Worcester and they have pointed me in the right direction.

I’ll see whether I can fix it using your advice first though, since it’s around ยฃ40 for a new cover.

Otherwise I guess I’ll have to go order one.

    Thanks again though, much appreciated.

    Hello there,

Once I actually figured out the correct term to search on, I managed to find it cheapest so far here:

    http://www.ransomspares.co.uk/parts/coo … /35669.htm

So have taken with going for that for my own sanity. It’s cheaper than I’ve found anywhere else.

    Hi there,

Just to say that it appears to be better now. I’m not sure what has worked, but I’ve done a few of the maintenance washes, bought the rinse aid, and am now regularly cleaning the filter itself. I suspect that it was the latter that was a problem. I regularly cleaned it, but rarely the main filter inside, always fearing it was too delicate. When I did I would only rinse it with cold water.

I’ve also taken note of the other good tips on here, so I think so far, so good at the moment, and will keep an eye on it all.

Thanks to all the help so far. It certainly seems to be the burnt food described in the threads here, and there’s no blockage in the spray arms or anything else and it all seems to be working well, which makes me suspect it was a build up of the filter.

Anyway, apologies if it was something obvious for you guys to solve, nevertheless, I still appreciate you pointing me in the right direction as all seems a lot better now.

    Thanks for the info.

I do the basic checks, but have not checked the seal for the top arm recently, though I only replaced it last year, but it could have gone again I guess?

I haven’t done the boiling water trick on the filter though, so I will try that.

I’m still getting the deposits, but thought I would wait until I’ve done a few of the maintenance washed and regularly used the rinse aid before coming to a conclusion.

I’ll do the boiling water thing now and see how it goes. I did the top and bottom arm yesterday, but like I say, I did not check the top seal so I will do that again.

    Okay,

I checked out the manual. I know how much I now need to add in order for the maintenance cycle.

Silly, I do the maintenance washes on the washing machine, but not as often for the dishwasher.

Anyway, I’ll let you know how it goes.

    Thanks once again…

    Regards.

    Hi there,

Thank you very much for the advice and speedy response. Much appreciated.

Okay, I’m not sure that there’s anywhere that I can put rinse aid in the dishwasher, and I just always ensure that the salt is topped up every Friday night.

I’ll look in the manual and see what it says about rinse aid.

Please let me know what you’d advise if you have any more advice to give.

    Much appreciated.

Re: Change The Element On An Indesit FID20 ?

    Hi there,

Just wanted to let you know that I managed to do this change today.

I’ve had the part for a while now, but what with other priorities, lack of ideal opportunities to switch the power off, lack of natural light, and a failed first attempt, it was only today that I managed to do it.

I couldn’t get the connectors off the first time as was too timid with it, so just connected everything back up again, did some more reading, and had a successful attempt today.

So thanx, iadom for the tips. Along with your help, and a lot more searching on the internet, I managed to find enough tips and guides for exactly how to do it and it went smoothly the second time.

    Cheers,

Re: Change The Element On An Indesit FID20 ?

Okay, I don’t know what the assumed level of knowledge is supposed to be before I start poking around but I have enough about me to respect electrics and to turn off, switch off the mains and check, double check, and triple check before hand.

That, at least, is abvious to me.

    ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m not planning on getting frazzled, so if it looks by any means difficult, then I won’t be doing it, don’t worry.

    Thanx again…

Thanks for the speedy reply. This sounds very optimistic.

I do not know what a megger is or multimeter, but it seems that at this price, it is worth a go to see if it fixes it anyway.

Thank you very much for the information. I will check this out tomorrow, and let you know how I get on.

    Once again, thanx !

Re: Homark Oven 02-711000 – Shelf and grill element…

    Hi there,

    Just an update for you..

I rang up Martin on the number you supplied, but he said that he does not service Homรคrk Ovens. He pointed me in the direction of Apple Electrics in Reading (Also have a Bracknell branch) though :

    Apple Electrics
    741- 743, Oxford Road,
    Reading,
    Berkshire.
    RG30 1JA
    Website: http://www.appleelectrics.com/
    E-mail:
    (Main office & Enquiries): service@appleelectrics.com
    (Shop and Spares Enquires): sales@appleelectrics.com
    (Accounts Department): accounts@appleelectrics.com

They are not open again until Tuesday, so I will pursue this then…

Am I right to assume that I could book them to fit the part, but get the actual parts from you ?

    Thanks again…
