My thought as well. However, changing it out with a new one didn’t fix the problem.

    Re: Samsung washing machines

My main experience with Samsung washers is the P1203J 1200 rpm model. This is one of the newest models, fully electronic. I’ve worked on at least 10 of these machines, and there is a very consistent pattern in the problems they develop. The plastic drum breaks around the bearings so that the internal drum becomes loose. The interesting thing I’ve discovered is that the drum on the 1200 rpm models is rated for only 1000 rpm. Also, the concrete block on top of the drum often splits in half. This is by no means a very quiet machine on spin, could be bad suspension along with poor quality of the concrete that causes the block to break.

Overall, I would say that the quality of Samsung washers is extremely poor, and I wouldn’t trust them to last more than two years of light to moderate use. I would stick to their other products like DVD players and cellphones lol.

Definitely sounds like the water inlet valve. This is not a big job to replace yourself if you can just get the part. Remember to disconnect the power before attempting any repairs :plug:.

    Re: Ariston Margherita AV1048 leaking

Okay, you’re saying that the water just went directly onto the floor without touching the clothes inside the machine. This tells me that the leak is possibly on the top of the machine and not on the bottom. My guess is that it’s the main hose leading form the soap drawer compartment into the drum. From my experience with many Aristons, this hose is poorly held in place on the soap compartment end without any clamps like most machines. The only thing that’s keeping it from falling completely off is usually a sort of hook on one side of the hose connected to the soap drawer compartment. I can imagine that this hose could have slipped off and on with the movement of the drum. This would be consistent with the sometimes-it-leaks-sometimes-it-doesn’t symptoms you’re describing.

First, unplug the appliance from the power outlet :plug:. Then remove the top again, check the hose I described to see if this is the case on your Ariston. Check if there are any clamps holding it in place on the soap compartment end. If not, see that the hose sits snuggly over the mouth piece on the soap compartment and find a fitting clamp or plastic strip and fasten it around the hose near the top. If the problem was this hose slipping off, this should fix the problem.

    Hope that helps,

Sorry, I meant the temp sensor. I’ve changed the temp sensor but it still has the same problem. The problem isn’t just that it overheats on normal wash programs but that it also heats on the cold-wash program, like the heater can’t be shut off. The water level is not too high.

I’m going over the technical diagram, I see the thermostat and something called a thermostop on the index sheet but I can’t see it on the main diagram so I’m assuming that these are components on either the power module or control module. I haven’t worked on too many fully electronic heating systems before 😳 .
