The element is only 2 years old brought form here. Surely it should last longer then that?

hi I disconnected the heating element and the machine works.

However I only put a new element in 2 years ago and when I tested the element and the thermostat with an altimeter they both were Ok.

Could it be the wiring leading to the element? If so how do I test that.

Its strange because with the element not connected i could run the washing machine.

Any ideas thanks for your help so far.

    Hi,

    Thanks for that.

I have done that and it did not blow it. So it must be something else.

Its strange because it briefly comes on and then immediately trips the RCCB so there is no code to see.

Could it be a lose wire?

Re: Indesit IDL500 error 1st and 3rd lights!!

    Well,

Spent all day taking it apart – it was a bit of pain to get to the pressure switch but the worst part was the clips they use on the hoses I could not use them again so I had to find a Jubilee clip that would fit- eventually found one on the washing machine.

No sign of any gunge at all. I must admit I always put things in the dishwasher without any food on and I check the filters after each wash.
I checked all the pipes could see no sign of any blockage . So the last thing to check is the circuit board.

If it is not that then it must be either of the pressure switches. I am inclined to think the one near the sump because it worked for a while with the hot water trick!!. I did check that sensor and the switch did move.

Do you stock that part?? Also how much would it be to Austria? If not I could get someone form the UK to bring here.

    Thanks for your helpo

    Hi,

Thank-you for taking the time to answer. I will check the part you say.

I was just wondering you talk about the ‘High enough flow of water’ could that mean the pressure of water from the tap is not enough?? Our mains water pressure in the kitchen is not very good and sometimes the water from the tap is just a dribble. Could that cause this problem?

    Thanks

    Re: Help with indesit IDL50

Or it could just be that Indesit appliances are amongst the least reliable on the market right now

I know but it was very cheap but looking inside it the parts do seem to be quite well made!!

Good news -it is working again!! After taking some pipes off and fiddling about with it it is now working again. Just doing a hot wash with a cleaner although I do clean the filter after every wash.

But thanks for your advice .

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I have checked all the pipes and nothing there so i think it is a faulty sensor or circuit board!! Can you just pull the sensor out or will that stop it working?

    thanks

iadom wrote:You really do need to run a cleaner through it. The internal hoses etc will also be gunged up.

If you cannot clear the fault with a dishwasher cleaner then its engineer time and a strip down to clear the thing out.

    Jim.

    Thanks Jim,

I would run a cleaner through it but it will not run a cycle it stops after 30 seconds!!. I have stripped the dishwasher down and the pipe is clear to take the waste water away. Its only 2 years old!!

Could it be the pipes that bring in water? Although they look clear aswell.

    Thanks

    Re: Help with indesit IDL50

    Thanks for that.

I have taken the 2 filters out-will it create the error if these are not in?

Also I have cleaned them is there any more filters to clean?

    Thanks
