Yeah made in china motor, are these far less reliable?Verry less rerriable…… Much lubbish! 😉
Hi, im afraid after fitting the new tacho the machine still does not work, same problem, fills and drains but does not rotate and then throws up the E08 error.

Don’t you just love those YouTube video’s. :rolls:
Sometimes youtube videos are useful, maybe not in this instance 😀
I did not check for voltage, what should i set my meter to and can i test it without refitting the motor?
thanks for your help, we will get there, i hope 😉

Ok i just tested the tacho and it is only going as high as 0.5.0.05 what? A magnetic tacho generator is axactly that, a generator, of voltage. It should register a rise in voltage and if it does, no matter how minimal, it proves it works.
0.5 ? ohms, i was going by what i saw on you tube, test the resistance, is this correct? SO does it look like my tacho ok?

Ok i just tested the tacho and it is only going as high as 0.5. Does this mean i definitely need to change the tacho.

i can borrow a better multimeter from work, ill test the tacho tomorrow night and report back. cheers

How reliable is testing the tacho with a multimeter?Very. Spinning the armature should generate current noticeable on a multimeter.
maybe i should get a decent multimeter and test it, i have one similar to this below, just a cheap screwfix one, so im not sure how reliable it is, i get a zero reading when turning the motor shaft.

Hi.
The terminal block was still attached to the bracket on the motor and there is lots of slack in the wiring so it does not look as though the cables got harmed.
How reliable is testing the tacho with a multimeter?

SO is testing the tacho a bit of a hit and miss as i read a post where the guy got bad readings from the tacho, replaced the tacho and the brushes and still had the E08 error.
