ParticipantRe: Zanussi DCE5655 – Water Temperature, Long Cycle Time
Thanks for that. System has found someone who covers my area, so with luck a full diagnosis will occur soon.
If it helps, another thing that does not seem to be working is the drying cycle – it should be hot air, but no sign of that. Does that help point to a heater fault, or control fault?
The water itself today has not been Tepid but rather more like cold – though is not quite as cold as if running the kitchen tap. Perhaps it’s just getting a little warm waiting in the pipe (it runs close to hot water pipes and is very close to the boiler).

Its connected to cold supply. Is there a way to diagnose fault, such as testing electrical connectivity of the heater? Replacing the heater I think is beyond my skills, so will need to call out an engineer… but before doing that, would like to be sure it is where the fault is.
Any idea of costs involved, and how long it would take an engineer to replace.

ParticipantRe: Whirlpool FF Fridge Freezer – Fridge very cold
This morning it seems it’s back to life again, at least I can hear the compressor running and the milk is cold, not frozen.
Will change to setting 1 and report back later.—
Its been on setting 1 now for 12 hours, all seems well. Fridge temp seems ok (sorry don’t have a reading of the temp), Freezer part does not feel as cold as usual, but expect that’s due to being on setting 1.
Should I now increase the setting, up to say 3 and see how it goes?

I have an Indesit WG1034T washing machine with a very similar problem (so hope you don’t mind me jumping on your thread Uncle Fester) . It is making a very loud banging noise when the spin cycle starts. I have also noticed that the front of the machine buldges outwards at times! Once the spin is up to full speed, there is no more bang.
Given the buldging and that the drum does seem to be quite loose (though I’m no expert in these things)… is that more likely to be the inner drum shaft (thus expensive)? My machine is a good few years old, so if very costly to repair, a new machine may be cheaper.
