Ask them to take a close up photo of the lower basket before emptying it next time it happens and send it to you so you can look at how it’s loaded. If during your testing the arm is spinning as should and the pressure is normal, it could be incorrect loading (i.e a saucepan handle or something going through the lower basket and interrupting lower spray arm movement.

ParticipantRe: Whirlpool to do a recall on Hotpoint dryers
I have an affected dryer. I called Hotpoint and they’ve logged my details so I can be contacted in the next 5 weeks. They told me there is no fire risk if the filter is cleared after every use and assured me we could keep using it in the meantime, which we are. Mountain / Molehill springs to mind here… On another note… Just think of all those Vauxhall drivers now worrying about their Zafira’s catching fire!

Jeez Ken… You’re like a Spin Doctor…! Welsh ‘X-Ray’ that featured a repair we did where parts were out of stock for over 6 weeks and they had a full refund. They feature all sorts of useless things such as Tesco selling over priced Prawns and EE charging for 4G useage when over limits and even Repaircare have been on it, twice to my knowledge! So please get it right or that could be considered to be ‘Slanderous’ also 😉
Back on to ISE, so the Warranty Fund was used to support the business, as opposed to closing the doors a long time ago and ensuring you’ve left the warranty money in place for the purpose it was intended?
So… Who signed for withdrawals? Was it yourself? Being you don’t have a hand in the running of ISE (Apparently)?
FYI, I already have the last 2 Years Accounts and I can put up a DropBox link for anyone that wishes to see them. The Shareholder fund looks quite attractive. The business shows profit, not loss.
I’m flattered that you turn to personal attacks in your responses. There’s no turning the spotlight on me in this mess Kenneth… This is your own doing and as you’ve now found yourself in a position where Engineers are not getting paid for work they’ve done for ISE, you’re no better than ServiceNet or GoLocal…! – Not even I can wear that crown 🙂
I would respect you more if you were a man and stood up for ISE rather than dismiss it by claiming little or no knowledge of the running of the business. As a Director and a Majority Shareholder (via UK Whitegoods Ltd), that’s just complete codswallop.

Hands off? Investor? While being Director & Majority Shareholder of ISE Ltd (Via UK Whitegoods Ltd)… Nahh… Sounds very odd. It’s either severe stupidity or he’s not actually being truthful here.
Shareholder funds over the last 2 years look healthy too! Accounts are available on the Companies House Website.
Being a Director of a Company has legal obligations. An investor would be a mere shareholder. A Director has to ‘Direct’ the company in the best interests of the company. A Director & Majority Shareholder indicates a much larger role than a simple investor. Especially when the said ‘Investors’ signature is on warranty paperwork!
When it’s stated above that the ring fenced account was used to keep the business going, does that mean salaries? New appliances for stock / sale? As if so, that’s got to be wrong surely as that fund was made up of warranty contributions by the machine sales to cover warranties in the event of ISE Ltd folding?!

Hi, this is Ade from NAC.
Andy Jone’s post saddens me as he has cost his business money by firstly being unavailable (i.e Only having an unattended landline number advertised ANYWHERE) but secondly, and more importantly, simply not returning a call.
As andy has come here, I’ll disclose that the call was a simple £45 + VAT (If registered) Inspection report. Same day BACS Payment.
Since then, not only has that report been attended and paid for, others have been passed & paid for that he could have had in the EX Postcode Area.
Could I please offer a suggestion to any readers? That suggestion is simple… Suck it n see.
Also, if any Engineer has been ‘ripped off’ by NAC, please speak up now…
The silence will be deadly. As we cannot and do not operate in that way.
Kind Regards,
Ade

ParticipantRe: The Trade Survey
Hi,
Is there any update on what’s happened with the survey? We like others took time to complete it and since completion, nothing.
What were the results? What’s changed or changing? What is the benefit to us all that filled out the survey?
Can the results be published here? As in the same place that the request for information from us all was made?
Kind Regards.

@Steve: Sorry to hear about James (Carl) & I hope he gets better soon, please pass on my regards. On topic: Ever heard of the term ‘one mans meat is another mans poison’? That can apply here as what one might like, another cannot stand. That’s just the way it goes 8) Anyway…
The annoying thing about this forum is that a simple question is asked about ‘whatever’ subject and there’s ALWAYS ‘keyboard warrior’ type fights that break out! The poor opening poster only asked a simple question and now he’s had to read about James’s illness and has had an insight in to blood n war over Hatchgate!
So, back to topic, there are other systems out there if you spend some time on Google. We ourselves have developed and recently launched a Job Management System but it wouldn’t suit you based on your requirements as a retailer as it was developed for Field Service Engineers so I won’t bother to plug it (Although it wouldn’t be approved for posting anyway due to: Advertising another product or service) 😆
@squadman: You’re probably better off ringing the guy directly and talking to him as based on what MK & Aztec have said, it sounds perfect for you. I for one wouldn’t write anything off without dipping my toes purely based on what is said here. Ask the guy for a free bash at the system, no-one would deny giving a free trial to a perspective customer so it should be straight forward, then you can judge for yourself 🙂Kind Regards.

With sincere apologies, I’ve just had a chance to catch up on all this and I have to say: The quote above has got to be (Barring Kenneth’s, & lee8’s posts, as in all of them), the most stupid thing I have ever had past my ears from someone in Business!
Given that as per your comment, your spend is COMMISSION, then the return would be phenomenal if you work it out!!! Commission is a portion of income paid for generating the sale. Therefore, if you would have paid us £30,000 in one year, your income would have gone up by what? £100,000 MINIMUM or a whole lot more!!
You need to have a word with your numbers man 😆
Queue kwatt: Yes this account is used by me (Ade) as well as John & Mick so yes it is used by a couple of people but… This account is named NationalAppCare, which kinda indicates it’s a company account otherwise we’d have called it Pluto1, Pluto2 or something anonymous like other people?! Rather than highlight this by putting red TXT at the bottom of each post, just ban it?! Or, you could accept we’re here to stay and get over it? Re-Instate our account functionality and move on? Or, we could if you’d prefer, create anonymous accounts and then you’d lose control as you cannot disclose an account owner in the forums? Surely? I mean just because my washdoctor account was banned by you doesn’t mean that John & Mick can’t be members using anonymous names?
Queue lee8: Yes lee8, I have had a Business go bust. Yes, my previous company did owe money to parts suppliers when it went bust just the same as it was owed money by those that went bust on it too, like MFI & ISDAL…! Yes I used to sell cars after leaving the Army and no I was not the best at it by a long shot. Yes it was just me lee, I had no support, no business partner and no experience. I learnt as I plodded along. I fell in to holes and learnt how to fill them ready for when I walk past next. Yes my name was on a Welsh consumer show and I took the embarrassment & blame for one of my previously employed engineers that was meant to be doing his job as I was the Director of the business, but you know what dude… You think you know me lee8? You don’t know jack!
Moving on… If I’m to be knocked for running a business that failed years ago due to other businesses failing on it / me, then so be it. However, where I am now and what I’m doing now makes me a better Director and a more experienced business person as I’ve been there, got the T-Shirt and I now know what to do and what not to do whilst growing so let’s get this show back on the road and do your worst Kenneth / lee8.
Kind Regards.

Unfortunately, a curse of dealing with / being involved with many thousands of repairs is that we do occasionally help out an Engineer if some unfair and / or unjust feedback is left for them, whether it be for a chargeable or a repair via warranty 🙂

ParticipantRe: Incorrect feed back on yell site
You can request that feedback is removed if you suspect it’s a competitor acting maliciously and in those instances, they might remove it depending on the evidence you provide and how strongly you present your request 😉
Other than that, you can get Yell to turn off the review feature on your listing completely. You’ll lose all your current reviews good & bad and nobody will be able to leave any in the future so if you haven’t got lots to lose, that might be the best bet if they won’t remove it.
Kind Regards.

ParticipantRe: bush washing machines
I have no idea why anyone would not have a card facility nowadays! Landlord / Tenant jobs = Card payment for the callout at the point of booking… Simple :rolls:
PayPal Here is a must to look at for a quick set up – Free App for iPad etc, start taking card payments in seconds! There is also a chip n pin device you can buy for the field too… The beauty about PayPal is that as soon as the amount has been taken, it’s available for withdrawal via your PayPal Account so in theory, payment over the phone and available in your bank account within 10 Mins. Problem sorted!

ParticipantRe: Argos
Dear dear lee8, firstly, it’s they’re, not there. Secondly, being Argos is about 30{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} minimum of JTM’s income stream, they don’t have the luxury of dropping them if they don’t get a ‘Thankyou’ even with re-negotiated Sony rates 🙂
Maybe it’s just a case of the girls within the business have been placed elsewhere & some lads have taken their place that can’t be wined n dined by JTM Management so naturally, lads being lads look at other alternatives that might suit the business better? 😉 Or this could all be utter nonsense?!
We could all speculate here for months as this forum is the best place to come to read speculation etc but in all seriousness, if I did warranty work for JTM right now, I’d be limiting my exposure. Other than that, what will be, will be 🙂

ParticipantRe: Servicenet
To be fair, most engineers just haven’t got the time to do all this ‘checking’ nor the knowledge, nor the justification if being asked to do 1 or 2 jobs. The answer is simple…
Ask for payment upon booking for the 1st few jobs. If anyone has a problem with that, then IMO there’s something wrong (I’m talking about random businesses not the Industry known businesses such as Repaircare, JTM etc and even then, to a certain degree, these rules might apply).
Treat them like a new Landlord that’s just called you asking you to repair their tenants cooker and they’ll pay in ‘X’ Days? Treat them like a normal customer who has just rang asking you to fix their machine and they pay you in ‘X’ Days. Say no!
Decent businesses will have no problem paying you your service charge up front at the beginning of a relationship. After all, if they’re asking you to do the repair, they’ve been paid…!
Kind Regards.
