ParticipantHi
Thanks for your reply.
On another note, I have noticed suds in the final rinse recently (I say “noticed” as for all I know it may have always been this way!). As I mentioned, the machine seems to drain fine and I do a regular maintenance wash (sometimes with a special drum cleaner), anything else that could cause this? Or is it the inherent issue of water “efficient” machines?
Thanks again

ParticipantRe: Detergent Dosing
Hi, thanks for the reply
I’m relatively clued up on general dosing, I’m just still a bit unsure wether or not to dose for soft/medium OR hard water.
Thanks again

ParticipantRe: Suddenly Getting Excessive Foam
Hi
I used the Dr Beckmann solution, it was quite “foamy” to begin with, but nothing too excessive (drum filled about 1/3 way up). I did the manufacturer’s anti-bac cycle after to give it a good flush through, as the solution smelled quite harsh.
I have also questioned if I’m dosing my detergent correctly http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/forumsphpbb3/detergent-dosing-t92542.html
Thanks again

ParticipantRe: Suddenly Getting Excessive Foam
Hi
Further to the above on something of an opposite nature, when I do a wash load I’m using the correct dosage of detergent, but don’t actually see much in the way of suds sometimes. Like I said, the dosage is correct and I’m careful not to overload the drum.
Thanks

Thanks again
The detergent I’ve been using is in fact biological, not non-bio.
I tried it again earlier and was fine, but I’ll try what’s recommended next time. For what it’s worth, the foaming only occurred during a wash, no suds or anything during plain rinses.
Thanks

Hi, thanks again
The drum clean/anti-bac cycle says not to use detergent, would I use a suggested cleaner in a standard wash cycle?
Is the service wash I describe something of a myth? I’ve read in a few places it’s the thing to do.
Thanks again

Hi
It’s a liquid, Persil Small and Mighty if it matters…

ParticipantRe: Suddenly Getting Excessive Foam
Hi, thanks for the reply
It’s a Bosch Exxcel WVH28360GB. Would what you suggest affect drainage, as the machine drains fine?
I’ve actually just tried with a different detergent (same brand, but the standard non-bio) and it’s not being a problem. That said, I’d never had a problem with the other detergent before!
Thanks again

ParticipantRe: Suddenly Getting Excessive Foam
Hi, thanks for the replies
It’s not a Samsung, it’s a Bosch, had for three years and never had this problem before.
When I start the cycle, it’s fine for a while and then at some point the foam suddenly builds within less than a minute. I did wonder if it was due to the water getting up to temperature (HOT! for this cycle), but it’s never done this before and the machine doesn’t feel any hotter or cooler than when I’ve done it before. Also, I usually notice that when the water gets up to the hot temperature the foam is less/”thinner”.
Thanks again

Hi, thanks for the reply
That was my first thought, but running a rinse cycle leaves clear water.
I’ve not noticed anything with washing cycles, on the “service” cycles.

ParticipantRe: Weird White Powder/residue…?
Hi, thanks for your reply
I tried and it seemed to improve, but only at first. I have a repair visit booked…
Thanks again
