Also, if I do go for a washing machine, I have the same question. Will a 60cm machine be okay in a 60.5 cm gap?

Thanks for response. I’m well aware of the issues with washer dryers and that separate machines are better, but my question is whether the width I have would be suitable for a 60cm washer dryer, if I do choose to go that route.

To answer you. No I don’t have the space for two machines, and yes ideally I do need a dryer. Tiny studio flat, no garden, condensation issues from clothes drying. I am researching models carefully because I know that washer-dryers can be a waste of time and money, but am hitting this width question.

Thank you. I don’t have much ability, and the tests you are suggested are almost certainly beyond me.

I guess I was hoping someone could say, based on the symptoms, the fault is likely to be X, and so the repair will be in the range of £X-£Y. Then I’ll know if it’s worth pursuing repair at all.
