    Re: Daewhoo FRS-U20iAi

I thought I would update this post if only to be helpful to others with the same issue.

The engineer blamed us for leaving the door open, or at least, something jammed in the door seal, which I knew was not the case. Anyway, after much investigation, I found that the fan was running weakly, so while it was moving, it was not moving fast enough!

I replaced the fan with two computer fans (12Vdc) as a temporary measure, but it worked so well they never got replaced.. 6 years later it is still running flawlessly LOL!

I think the thing deserves a proper motor and now I have moved and can use the in-situ fridge for a while I will purchase one. I wonder if that will last 6 years?!?!

Bryan did you get my email by any chance? Seems Baumatic don’t want to be cooperative!

o/h reports it is working quite well now! Thanks for the help 🙂

BTW How often should I put the machine through a wash cycle? We use a hoover for washing and this (which was left by previous tenants) for drying if needed.

I do not get a steady trickle, more like a ‘fill’ every few minutes which seems quite purposeful.
There is no filter above the condenser but there is a sort of filter at the bottom in to the drum housing proper. This was clogged and I have since cleaned.

After some testing it seems to be working now! 🙂

    Filter:

There was a lot more in the condenser, but phone is slow to backup to google tonight so no pic yet! Maybe holding the moisture and just recirculating instead of condensing it?

    Re: Indesit IWD61450

ok motor came this morning straight in and the machine is happy now – I am going to replace the 3 motor control relays on the control board with some proper branded jobbies, as the chinese blocks in there look a bit cheap, I should imagine they might have suffered as a result of the motor failing…

    Thanks for the help!

    Re: Indesit IWD61450

So I am, just over a year old and seems a replacement motor is going to cost nearly as much as a new machine, and I assume the free parts offer will be worthless unless I get one of their techs, who no doubt will charge as much as it will cost me to purchase a motor 🙁

Our previous hoover did 9 years with two babies before the drum fell off its mount – it had one set of brushes and that was after 8 years!

Are Indesit generally reasonable or is it more a lottery these days?

The worst part of the commutator is shown in the picture below – I suspect there is an issue with one or more windings?

Hi Martin, the brushes appear to be ok, they are a little scored but both extend about an inch when removed so I would have thought they had plenty of life left???

ok an update just pulled a load of stuff out the freezer and the rear wall has a buildup of ice so has the evaporator frosted up? Is there a quick way to remove this frost as we have nowhere to put our frozen food 😯

I am expecting a Daewoo engineer to ring me today but I would liek to try what I can!

    Appreciate any help.

Hi Dave just been to purchase the part above and noticed you only do NOCHEX & Credit /c. No other alternatives available like Paypal / real cheque?

    Re: Stat for Tricity freezer

Hi Dave, seems the sensor is stuck so the freezer is permenantly running… Have put it in our fridge freezer to test but still not ‘plunged’ – I have seen this with stats out of water boilers but don’t touch fridge gear so not sure if so common.
just out of intrest, why is the switch two stage?? is it some kind of divertor or somthing??? sorry I know little about freezers.
Anyway thanks for the link – looks idebtical and I figured there would be a universal! I will add that to my basket as soon as!
