Sorry, I meant to add “But thanks for the suggestion”. Didn’t mean my reply to be rude! I appreciate the help.

Nope – on this particular model both the rinse aid and the salt are in the door, either side of the detergent release.

Re: Liebherr F/F CUN3909 – Compressor running almost continu

Yes it is Frost Free, but it’s hardly ever used so the doors stay mainly closed.

We have another ‘main’ F/F, a Bosch, which is also frost free but the compressor certainly isn’t running anything like that amount of time. It comes on for a short time after you’ve opened the door, but spends most of its time off.

I was expecting similar behaviour from the Liebherr. It’s comforting to know that it’s normal for this machine to have the compressor running most of the time. Wonder why the two machines are so different?

Thanks for your help – really appreciate it.

    Thanks again for your help.

I checked the inlet filters and they are fine. Also checked the water pressure and it’s good.

I pulled the aquastop head apart, and it seemed like the valve assembly is a sealed unit, filled with epoxy or similar, so I couldn’t dismantle it any further without completely wrecking it.

Oh, and I can confirm that it’s plumbed to a cold feed.

I think it’s going to be a case of goodbye Mr Bosch, hello Mr Miele.

Re: Bosch SMS9022/14 getting stuck at start of cycle

Hi Gegsy, thanks for that (and sorry for the delay in replying).

Tried that – the hose was actually not too bad (a few horrible smelly bits, but nothing that would have blocked the tube).

One thing I have just noticed – the machine is taking a very long time to fill – the water entering the top of the matrix is just a trickle.

I wonder if that’s part of the problem, and whether it’s the inlet valve that’s decided it’s had enough? I guess the downside is that being an AquaStop machine, replacing the value will probably be expensive.

    Hmmm…

    Thanks again,

    P.

By tub do you mean the casing? If so it’s metal.

But there’s a plastic thing on the left hand side which is like a bit a water maze, with little cascades, moulded tubes, and a float switch about 1/3 of the way up.

Hi Vishva, tell me more about the problems with your SMS9022 – I have the same model and it has just started playing up (see separate posting). I wonder whether mine has the same fault as yours.

Is there an easy way to test whether mine has the same fault as yours?

I’m almost at the point of sending it off to the tip and buying a Miele, but I’m prepared to give it one last chance – I just don’t want to spend a fortune repairing a 10yo machine.

carvsx, I’m just wondering if you ever got to the bottom of this. I have the same cooker, and am suffering with a similar problem in the main oven.

I’m not convinced about earth leakage in my case, because the oven will heat up to around 40 degrees or so, and then the thermostat will kick in and switch the element off.

I’m also fairly sure that the oven is overheating (so when you set it to 70, say, it’s more like 200 inside).

I’m guessing it’s either the control or the thermostat – unless there’s an adjuster to zero-in the existing control?

(Oh, and there aren’t any UKWG approved engineers in my area)

    Thanks for your help,

    P.
