Re: Bosch WFP3300 Stuck on Main Wash

Thanks. Just run a 90*C cycle and heater and pump working OK it seems.

Before by manually advancing the program (by pressing start) it ran to completion fine, this time it’s advanced to rinsing on it’s own.

Maybe it’s something like the caps on the circuit boards getting to the end of their lives.

Thanks very much indeed. Yes it’s white – I’ll check the probe as suggested.

Re: Cannon Harmony (80216G) Oven Temp Overshoot

Just to close this one off – I replaced the spark generator with the replacement cited above which sorted that. Fortunately Cannon enclosed wiring instructions as all the terminals are labelled differently. Shame they didn’t think to include an advisory on the thermostat which is completely incompatible with the cooker without the modifications described above.

While I had it apart I also replaced the insulation tape I’d used on the thermostat wiring with some heat resistant sheath (the same cotton-type stuff that is used over the thermostat pipe at the back of the thermostat).

So anyway, thanks very much for all the assistance on this, the whole thing is now working perfectly again!

    Re: Which electric oven?

Just thought I’d mention that my own experience of Cannon cookers (Indesit made I believe) is that the electric elements and fans have a very limited life. I’m averaging three years a piece at the moment, and have just replaced ignitor and thermostat too at 10 years. Door handles have also been replaced…

By the way, I wrapped some standard black electrical insulation tape around the (bare metal) crimp connectors on the thermostat to be sure of no contact to the surrounding steel, but I now wonder whether such tape is suitable for use in this location because of the potential for heat (from the grill for example)?

Re: Cannon Harmony (80216G) Oven Temp Overshoot

Right, sorted this now… actually it was pretty easy.

The replacement part has almost exactly the same external dimensions as the original, except that its axis is rotated 90-degress clockwise. However there is enough clearance to accomodate the switching mechanism itself 90-degress counterclockwise (i.e. on its side), hence as stated this can be achieved by drilling a couple of new holes in the mounting plate.

This will however leave the knob similarly twisted, byt this can be easily resolved by grinding a new flat face onto the rotor too:

Now to test it! Re the other problem, the spark gen is shot on outputs ReIgn1 and Ign5 it seems, so I need to get another one which I think is now C00241368 (was GR101A5/1). Can’t see it in the online store though…

    Cheers!

Hi, many thanks for your help, it is greatly appreciated.

I did think about turning the whole mechanism through 90-degress by drilling new mounting holes on the support plate, which would be fine other than the knob then being 90-degrees apart from the markings on the dial!

Hi, I’ve just taken it apart but the spare doesn’t fit! It’s orientation is 90-degrees out, and fouls the hob support steel. Here are the two side-by-side:

And here is the steel work that it fouls:

Do you have an alternative part? Markings on the original are 8803-03, DE, R in a U symbol, and “04 01” in ink (which I guess is when it was made).

    Many thanks,
    James.

Re: Cannon Harmony (10216G) Oven Temp Overshoot

Sorry 10216G is the model number. All hob ignition is fine, just the grill and the top oven packed up after said incident!

    Many thanks.

RCD’s have a button labelled “test” on them in addition to the switch… MCBs don’t.

Is it tripping an MCB or an RCD?

Sounds like the drum water seal… new seal and bearings probably needed.
