Just to tie this up, received the part today from ukwhitegoods and it worked fine so happy days and thanks for your help.

This is the bit in question, it is mounted vertically but came out without too much hassle, did have to drill a small hole in the back of the machine to get to one of the screws. It is clearly visible when removing the side of the machine.
havent been able to find that price tho, can you say where that was from.

Thnx for the reply, yes sorry, i have thermistors on the brain from work, thermostats i meant.
When the machine is running i have a live feed on the bottom wire (black and white) as i look from the side of the machine, and the single blue wire on the spade connector above that, which goes to the element, reads 0 volts (using croc clips). Im guessing these two connectors make up the feed for the element and the contact is not being made by the timer module.
Still just a bit wary as this is gonna set me back bout £50 i reckon and id hate to waste it.
