Already an update: it seems Whirlpool has a few ovens that have the “jet start” function that at least cuts the steps down quite a bit. Other brands?

I know that toilets typically aren’t seen as ‘white goods’ but an electric toilet suddenly – in my opinion – becomes somewhat of that style. Still, ok I will go elsewhere for this one 🙂

Anyway the main thing I’m arriving at is that with my cooking style I certainly use an oven but in my 30+ years of cooking for myself experience I have never needed two ovens at the same time, so I will take one proper oven, and one dedicated microwave.

So I’ve been looking for microwave-only. Here’s a common neff one:

Note that it’s *tiny*. This might be for efficiency reasons but with a 31cm turntable you certainly can’t comfortably microwave a full family meal.

For some reason the ice dispenser really is a dealbreaker (in the sense that none of the upperclass brands have them).
Frankly the 5y warranty of Samsung seems somewhat attractive. It shows a decent confidence in the product.

Integrated microwaves with turntable are actually somewhat hard to find, and many people claim they are actually inferior technology to the stirrer fans, but well, fact is that my neff flatbed indeed “sucks at stirring”. Hrm. Difficult.

Fair questions, but “of course” it all comes down to how much hob space you feel you need. As I advance in cooking (by no means a proper chef but hey I’ve been cooking for 25 years) I find myself using 3-4 pans quite frequently and my pans clash too much on a 60cm to be comfortable
