    Thanks all,
I’ll see if I can get the model info and pass on all your suggestions. At least with that info I can see what parts if any are available and an approximate cost. They can then make an informed decision.

    Hi Don,
Thanks for the heads up on where to find the info for the model no. I don’t suppose you know how it would be attached to the worktop? Never had any dealings with hobs before unfortunately…

That’s why I wouldn’t go near hoover spares. Got one for £8 delivered and I thought that was on the expensive side. Anderson Electrical

Well, I broke a retaining pin off each cover but as expected the screws were under there. A hidden latch on each cover needs to be pressed in to allow removal by pushing each cover toward the rear of the cleaner. Once opened the switch is a simple replacement. The covers will probably go back on and still function and as it is a second cleaner aesthetics are not important.
    Cheers again

    Hi Dave,
Have looked all over the machine, even under the label but can’t see any more holes for screws.
I assume the wheels just pull off as they appear to be all one piece, no removable caps to be seen.
If you have seen one of these cleaners any idea how you remove the pedal covers or shall I just try and pry them off. I can’t really make things much worse I feel.

    Cheers

Ransomes seem to have stock at £50 and I have seen it offered elsewhere for £153. I have to say at that point I nearly gave up searching….
    Cheers again for your help

    Hi Dave,
Many thanks for your reply. I can now see how much this is going to cost to get repaired or even if its worth fixing. I think a call to Hotpoint may be the first move and see what they have to say.

    Cheers
