The rattle detracts from the quality image. But hey now I am getting picky. 8) My machine as been trouble free but on arrival it came with a faulty connection which required a service call straight away. In those days ASKO had a presence in the UK (now handed over to Maytag) . I too raised the issue about the pull down door rattling. He told me that when they first brought the drop down door out it was dampened and also had a cut off switch. However they had problems with children pulling down the door and standing on it (Swedish children must be as bad as ours). Hence the current design of the door, but it does not always rattle however mine is an old model so max spin 1500

NottinghamJon wrote:Yes, we got one in January and we’ve been impressed with it. As you say, pretty quiet and nicely designed. The only problem with ours is that the door seems to take a real push to make it close. It’s not enough to be a problem to us, but I’m not sure that, for example, an elderly relative would be able to close it. It needs enough force that you’re almost pushing the drum to the back of its travel. Is this the same with yours? Is it normal?

Jon. If it helps I have had a trouble free Asko washing machine for about 17 years. At first the door was a little difficult which I put down to the design of the seal. It just needs a firm touch and it gets better with age. I might add at the same time I also got an Asko dishwasher, dryer and fridge freezer. On moving house I gave the fridge freezer to a friend and its only just given up the ghost. Dishwasher still going very well and trouble free. Dryer sadly had to be taken to the tip (which is why I like the ISE concept). My engineer thought their may be a hairline crack in one of its two circuit boards. He could not trace it and was concerned about running up huge bills because of the cost of parts. So that got replaced with a rather impressive LG one. Since ASKO pulled out of the UK with little thought for their customers, service and parts have been a nightmare. However I do believe they are well made machines and with the ISE back up in future all should be well. I hope iSE launches a dishwasher before mine packs up 😉

    Re: Liebherr freezer problem

I do Dave, and please dont get me wrong, I certainly did not seek to and do not feel I did get the better of Liebherr. I feel their products are good, machines do go wrong and I felt I was delt with very well both by them and their service agents here in Brighton. Please note readers I am happy to recomend Liebherr. However Rowenta is a different story that I will not go into, but it involves lies, changing stories and a product that they can not get to work. However I have been nice to them all the way through, but I have to say it is all stating to wear a little thing. Take care. Rob

Just to update you all, Liebherr sent me a cheque for £50 as a token of good will. So all in all not a bad result. R

    Re: Liebherr freezer problem

Thanks guys, freezer in well venterlated utility room. They are calling me today so I am prepared to kick up a fuss. Has I write they have just phoned, Kensington have gone ahead with the repair and fitted a new compressor with 12 months warranty to total cost is £150 inc vat. I suppose that is not too bad. They have suggested that since they are just a service agent that I should take it up with Liebherr. Do you think I should? Rob

Oh dear seem to have opened a can of worms here. Yes there are lots of cowboys in all these support industries. Thats why sites like this are great, because the good people can be plugged and hopefully join up so that you have a list of good people all over the country. I do hope martin from yesterday joined up, nice guy, here over an hour, because he gave the machine a good check over, and only charged £39. Keep up the good work lads. Must go dishwasher just finnished and needs unloading (dont they do that by themselves)? Rob 😆

Re: Bosch SRS4602GB/13 Module set up

Ok guys, the sarga ends. The very nice martin from Appliance Repairs (01273 415661), arrived and within a few minutes all was fixed, it would seem we had a blockage. So Thank you Mr cow boy from last week I did not need to spend £190 or create yet more land fill. Thanks again every one for all the help and support. By the way I have told my man from today to join up. Best wishes and enjoy the rest of the summer. Rob

Re: Bosch SRS4602GB/13 Module set up

    HI guys,

I am away from home for a bit hence the delay in replying. first off thanks for all your support you are a great bunch. The guy that came (and I was not there), was from a different company since I thought the first one had run a mile. He said that the pump was ok but that it was not getting the message to work. he said only Bosch could repair it and that a call out and fix by them would be at least #190, and then came out with all the throw away stuff etc. Then last night the first chap called me to say he had found some codes. i told him that bit was now ok but the pump had given up the chost. he has offerd to come and have a look but I dont know if I should keep spending on it (in trouble at home now). The whole thing all seems odd when you take account that the machine is only about two years old now and that Bosch are supposed to be one of the better brands. perghaps i should write them an angry of Brighton letter. So any ideas, shall I join the throw away society. Rob

    Re: Most ridiculous part price

Move down to Brighton, we will put loads of work your way. My best friend has a Asko Dishwasher. The module failed and he called a local repair service at a cost of £275 and a 3 week wait for parts. The first time he used it the panel got hot and smoke came out. He called Asko who sent one of their head office people out. It seems that not only had the module been incorrectly fitted causing a melt down, but that the original board could have been repaired. Asko were so horrified they replaced the module and repaired the machine free of charge. So who do you trust, tell the landlord he is lucky to have you. Rob

    Re: Most ridiculous part price

Some good points K, and I guess educating the puplic gets no where, its why I dont want to resort to taking troublesome dishwasher to the tip. I came from a very poor working class family, until I was 14 we lived in just 3 rooms and I was 5 before we had our first fridge. But I was raised that you not take things for granted, that you should only have things when you could afford them and above all take care of them and dont waste them. Not such a bad idea I suppose. I still find it surpriseing to work out how a company can charge £250 for a washing machine, but £200 for its controll module. It canot have cost them that. I suppose they want us to keep buying new machines. It must make your life tough, but good indepents like the folks on here are worth their weight in gold, the problem is finding them. Take care and best wishes. Rob 😉
