    Re: Error Code F36 – WAE24468GB/17 Bosch Exxcel 7 1200 Expre

Should it be of use to anyone else, response from Bosch customer service:

“An F36 fault is an indicator that the door lock is failing and would need an engineer to repair.”

Whoops – must learn to re-read posts! It is F36 Not F26, I will try and edit the original post

Will try that over the weekend. Haven’t observed the operation of the compressor, it’s certainly cooling (less than -30 at the mo).
will have a look over the weekend to see if compressor is on continually or not.

Re: Old Ocean upright freezer (no model number)

Thanks again Clive, it seems to be responding to alterations in the dial at the moment.
Been away and haven’t had time to listen to compressor turning on and off, but I think I’ll just go ahead and replace the old girl.

Re: Old Ocean upright freezer (no model number)

Thanks Clive, it is a separate thermometer i have placed on the top shelf, so I will try and test the thermometer.

That being said, if the thermometer maintains a constant temperature (and varies only when I alter the dial) and the warning light stays on does this suggest the compressor rather than the thermostat?

Do you think I will then be on borrowed time until it fails completely? To be honest with the age if I need to spend more than about a tenner to fix it it’s not worth it!

I am not expecting a definite solution, but a view from someone who knows a darn sight more than me is appreciatd!
    Thanks

Reply no longer needed as decided to get new machine.

Washman – thanks again for counting my posts and not actually contributing to any of them

Re: Zanussi WJS1265W,motor not turning,Diagnostic error code

Thanks Geoff, but all tried already. 90{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} it’s the PCB, so decided to bite the bullet and buy a new machine. New PCB, new counterbalance weight, all adds up to more than is worth to repair an 8 year old machine, particularly seeing as I’m not convinced more damage wasn’t done when the weight fell off, which I may not discover for a while!

New Machine arriving soon, old already given for spares to my local guy for a donation to the RNLI!

Sorry, my mistake title amended to reflect the model number it is a zanussi WJS1265W.

And thanks for the comment on multiple posts, but they are all asking different questions and from experience of forums, one post with many questions often results in some questions not being addressed.

Thanks again to all those contributing to the answers

Rocketman – thnks for the helpful offer, but looks like martin saved you the effort. Martin, thankyou.

It’s reassuring to know there are still guys out there willing to help others, here’s hoping I can pass on some of my mistake ridden endeavours to help others avoid the same schoolboy errors!

Thanks for that, tacho checked already, since my last post got my local guy to look at the motor and connections with multimeter. Looks like the PCB is knackered,

    Update and (lack of) progress

OK, some searching on here and I’ve tried:

1 – Removed motor and definitely running free, removed brushes and still spring out approx half an inch (am assuming that means plenty of life still?)

2 – Tried a few programmes, they start OK and fill with water then nothing, skip to spin cycle it drains OK then nothing. Also dryer only function does nothing. No motor movement at all, not even a twitch

3 – Entered diagnostic mode (power on with start and reset button pressed), cycle to 40 degree light on and it shows E52, which I think is motor, motor wiring or PCB? During the few minutes of (careful) button pressing in diagnostic mode I noticed that the Dryer heating element started getting hot and smoked a bit. Very similar smell to the original weight disintegration problem, this couldn’t bear any relevance to the motor not working problem could it?

4 – Removed and inspected the PCB, large patch of carbon deposit around a small area in the centre of the board near the copper coil inductor/transormer thing, but all the tracks look OK and no obvious component has exploded!

I get the feeling it’s engineer time, unless anyone has a nugget of wisdom to throw my way!

Thanks kladave – but in this case it is definitely the plastic wrap from within the motor.

Re: Zanussi – WJS1265W. Plastic wrap in motor?

    Cheers penguin

Will check the brushes & there’s no obvious evidence of melting on the plastic. (Filter is fine)

. . and don’t worry I’m a big fan of unplugging before touching the electrics!

    Re: Electrolux ESL 614

Guys – Still trying to avoid an engineer coming at the moment. The intermittent problem is now full time. However the dishwasher works in all other respects so I am living with the problem at the moment.

One thing I have now noticed. It will not pump any water while it is still warm. i.e. Once it has cooled down I can drain the excess water in the bottom by starting another wash program, but when warm nothing happens, no matter which of the 3 wash programs I choose.

I don’t suppose this gives anyone any ideas as to what could be wrong?
