Re: Hotpoint WT721 F08 error code

Ok, Can I test the thermistor? I was thinking if I use a multimeter on the two terminals and put the thermistor in cup of hot water the resistance should change? indicating it is OK? Or are they more complex or a better way to test?

    Hi Martin,

OK thank you, so with heater could it just be O/C? Is the thermistor on the heater? like a plug in unit? Connections I can check no problem. I had heard someone say it could be worn brushes? I guess thats not true?

With control PCB are they just plug and play or do they need to be programmed?

    Kind regards
    Andy

    Hi Andy,

Thank you for the reply, I can borrow a 500v insulation tester from Megger. Is it as straight forward as using it on each pin to the motor frame with it on my bench? or does it have to be back in the machine?

    Hi kwatt,

Umm my dad said so as he accidentally touched the side of the heater frame and got a a belt from it and it tripped the RCD. I have a digital multimeter what terminals should I check and what am I expecting to read? AC/DC etc
