ParticipantGood point. They are Miele service agents so I guess they are decent. I have looked on Youtube and understand how to do it but would rather not remove so much of the machine myself – not to mention the time involved.

Thanks very much – off to find the mole grips!

ParticipantRe: Bosch HBM43B150B Hinge snapped shut
Thanks – I’ve attached a picture of the hinge in its closed position. Sorry to be slow but is it simply a case of gripping the lever and pulling it open in the direction of the arrow and then droppping the locking tab into place?

ParticipantRe: Bosch Exxcel door problems
Great thanks – sorry to be slow but once the fascia is it just a question of following the illustrations or is there another procedure I need to follow to ensure that this pesky lever stays out of the way? (e.g. do I need to remove anything from the plastic fascia to access the lever?)

ParticipantRe: Bosch Exxcel door problems
Thanks – I had a feeling that would be it!! I have found a video on Youtube which looks to be essentially the same model and shows how you remove the front panel/fascia but it was to replace a relay (which I have done on a dryer so have no fears about delving inside appliances!). As a result there are no shots of the locking mechanism that I can refer to. Could you tell me please where this is located – is it integral to the plastic fascia or the metal sub-assembly that the plastic part clips to? Also could you tell me the method to disable the lock – is it basically what the illustration is showing?

No they didn’t – but I did and although I followed the instructions that doesn’t stop the lever from popping out. 😕 Is there anything else I can do?

ParticipantRe: Bosch Cooker hood fan problems
Thanks Martin
I haven’t taken it out of the cupboard yet but haven’t seen any sort of service manual for this model on the internet – and I know Bosch customer service will be no use whatsoever. Will I need any form of diagram to remove and clean motor (or replace it if it comes to that) or should it be pretty self-explanatory?
Also do you supply this part? -
