    Re: Bosch WFO2260 Overheating

Well, engineer visited today and tells us it is the programmer that is at fault. Says we’re very unlucky and he’s only ever seen two go before.

Apparently part is about £160 plus fitting.

    Looks like a new machine………. 🙁

OK, today’s update from the front line is that the machine functions but now no heat – water stone cold. 😕

Does this suggest that the NTC sensor is completely adrift or that the heating element maybe cooked also?

Sounds like an engineer call out!

    Thanks for any advice.

Re: Bosch WFT2800 Fabric Conditioner Compartment

On my Bosch I found that using a plant sprayer (set to jet rather than spray) is quite an effective way of cleaning the draw dispenser cavity especially all the holes in the roof.

Takes a bit of practice not to get too much shooting back at you but seems quite effective. Same method also sorts out the hard to reach areas of the drawer itself – do this in your kitchen sink! Don’t suppose it would shift gunge if it is lodged several inches up the tubes in which case the cable tie method sounds best.

Thanks for the responses. Have now run it three times with no problem.

What does NTC stand for – something temp control? Sounds like something that might be quite apparent if I opened the machine up and had a look (unplugged first of course!)

    Where should I look inside?

    Thanks again.

Re: Powder vs Liquid vs Tablets?

I was thinking about the gunge problem – the answer to which now seems clear.

Also I wondered about how many washes to the £ and whether the different forms of soap differed in this respect – I suppose I could work this out for myself if I studied the boxes! The advantage of powder and liquid here is the ability to vary the dose as pointed out.

I guess I’m just a cynical consumer and wonder what is the need for powder, liquids, liquitabs and tablets and therefore suspect a scam!

Well, I checked the filter and ran a couple of test rinses & drains with no problem and machine has been fine ever since (touch wood).

A bit worrying but everything else seems normal, if it does happen again I will try notching back the pressure.

    Thanks for the suggestions.
