Its a Bosch 🙄 surprisingly enough………cunningly hidden in a discussion about my new Bosch Washing Machine being Spanish or German is a picture of a Bosch Washing Machine.

Sorry…..spent years being the Manager in the Purchasing Department who the engineers used to blame for everything……..I developed a thick skin and a good sense of sarcasm and this strange and mysterious ability to make sure no matter how small the part they ordered was it was efficiently shipped in a 50x50x50 double walled carton….lovingly filled with Vermiculite……1 Part per carton

    Don

Thanks for that at least I know my new one is German looking at the picture online

I know the model numbers are hard to find, my old one Bosch had all that detail on a plate inside the door (really helpful german logic) the engineer had to tell me that the first time I called them out some 5 years back because I couldnt find it either.

Didnt know about Bosch’s Spanish machines being a bit iffy

Can someone tell me now if I have jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire talking my retailer into replacing my exploding Indesit with a Bosch Classixx WAE24162?

Because they just called me to say they cant deliver until the 30th and their customer service department is going to offer me “some goodwill” so I might be able to negotiate them upto a better machine if thats Spanish

Being a crippled Purchasing Manager does have its advantages 🙂

Echoing the comments earlier in this post I have first hand experience of how parts buying works as I had to deal with it in my career in the Foodservice industry with the “pro” level machines, the stuff I saw…..£1.00 parts being sold out at £50 because the supplier had a £15 carriage charge on a £1 part that came in an envelope with a 50p stamp on it. I did kick bottoms over that and managed to get a lot of the suppliers behaving themselves on that score. Between that and 2 years as the Purchasing and Logistics Manager for a electronic revenue systems company I could write the book on overpriced spares.

The best one I ever saw was shown to me by the repair manager when the stock control system said we had 200 thermocouples in stock with none on the shelf…..turned out to be a part from RS Components bought for £1.20 sold out as either Hobart, Rational, Lincat for prices between £15 and £80

Most of the buy prices would tumble if half the buyers actually looked at the code numbers on the parts and ran the manufactuers through an electronics trade directory that I really better not post on here, I doubt the dealers would thank me if I made public who suppliers that supply their suppliers are. Secondly its carriage charges £7.50 and £15 carriage charges are commonplace in electronics when the parts are posted royal mail and most of the time the buyers never think to look at the packet the goods came in. But that sort of thinking earned me a hell of a lot of money as a commercial buyer before some prat salesman exposed me to a biohazard that left me a cripple.

About 3 months ago when the Co-op stopped selling the large boxes of Ariel Powder and had the Ariel Color tablets on offer as a replacment.

That was in my old much missed 6 year old Bosch Washer Dryer running on cold fill only, with the water flow reduction washers removed..your not the only one with lousy water pressure.

I tried them in the drawer and putting them in a “tablet net” in the drum, I had the same none disolving problem both ways, but if I broke up the tablets up in a plastic bag they disolved 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}.

It probably isnt the water hardness thats causing it, Ariel would be innundated with complaints if they didnt desolve right in hard water, the only thing I could think of that might affect disolving is the excessive level of Chlorine Southern Water put in the supply round here.

They might work fine in soft water, they dont desolve right in hard water in a cold fill only machine 🙄 only way I could stop them leaving white powder marks on my blue shirts was to break up the tablets in a plastic bag with a steak hammer.

    Re: Draining an Indesit WIDL-126-UK

I went off Ariel for one very good reason, the supermarkets I shop at delisted the powder and liquid in favour of the tablets and the liquitabs and what powder they did have was the smallest box size at “top whack” prices.

I found the “replacment” tablets bloody awful, they never disolved right when either put in the drawer or the wash and the only way to get them to disolve was to put them in a plastic bag and hit it with the steak hammer until I got powder, the liquitabs were even worse and I had very little control over how much detergent I was using in a hard water area.

After trying a few other brands I found Waitrose’s own brand cleaned the best in the water for this area, but if one of the supermarkets starts stocking Ariel powder again I will go back to using it.

Thanks, I used to use Ariel but switched a few months back to Waitrose’s Own Brand which I think its about the best on the market.

    Re: Draining an Indesit WIDL-126-UK

Thanks for that tip, worked like a charm 🙂

I would have gone for a better machine, this one replaces a Bosch Washer Dryer that lasted 8 years, but my income is very much reduced these days thanks to going from £60K a year as an Electronics Buyer down to disablement and Incapacity Benefit thanks to one of my old firms customers exposing me to a bio-hazard. 😥

So that was the best I could afford, though I am currently looking at JLP’s website and seeing if I can get a straight washer for the same money I paid for that Indesit as I am not 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} comfortable with having a machine that explodes in the kitchen.

BTW, what are your thoughts on using Washing Soda in machines as I was advised to add a small amount into washes to act as a degreasing agent because of this way the rather nasty bug I had spreads.
