thanks for all the replys , the thermostat goes through a tube over the top of the roof and down to back plate. it is wired correctly,i think the low on gas sugestion could be the answer, but would low gas still freez up the back plate as this one does.

if so then whats the proceedure for regasing,i youse to do some gasing many years ago. is it same— prosess , tap the stub,add the gas with the gages.
