ParticipantRe: Fidge freezer door Legal help please
hi jackal,
i have spocken to my insurance company this morning and i am covered.
i also met with the landlord, little old man with a walking stick very pleasent though.
i showed him were the door was not sealing he still says it was down to the freezer being iced up causing the door not to close, i informed him i checked for this and did not think this was the cause.
unfortunatly the door now seals correctly??? he has it in his garage running.
i asked him what he plans to gain from this as i have already not charged him for call out.
he wanted us to come to an arrangement there and then which i was not going to do!
he feels he is out of pocket and i should cover the bill!
he did admit that the door did not seal correctly when he saw it and that getting parts for a haeier it fairly hard.
all this over a £90 fridge.
i did inform him that on contacting the tenant in the beginning she was very abusive as i could not attend that day he seemed to know all about that.
we could not see eye to eye on this subject so he says he will be taking it further.tanner

this guys a real headhunter he just wants to make a point i think though i still stand by my original findings.
i will be giving him a full report today with a copy of the original works order saying the seal is coming apart. this is before i even looked at it.
i am starting to wonder why i even bother being in this game anymore poeple seem to have changed there atitude to guys like us.

ParticipantRe: Scrap & Weee
Hi Guys,
You need to be very careful about this one, i was driving home from guildford the other week, when a copper walked into the road in front of me asking me to pull in.
Once stopped they checked everything bar my fillings and the reason for stopping me was to see what waste i was carrying.
luckly i was ok, one question they did ask was were i scrapped my machines, he told me i must ask my local scrap yard if i can see there waste licence.
I have always recycled my old machine correctly i feel all of this is just desighned to make all our lives harder.
oh by the way if you are caught on the wrong side of the law on this i was told by said copper that it could cost me THIRTY Grand.rgds

ParticipantRe: Looking to buy a a Pocket PC or Smartphone?
Hi All,
I have got a t-mobile mda smart phone operating on windows mobile.
I have had this phone for about a year now and would not be without it!
i use microsoft office on my home pc so as jobs come in through the daytime my wife puts then on the pc then all i have to do is plug the phone in that night and bobs your ancle they are there on my phone.
It has blue tooth, gps, internet and all the bells and whistle also unlike other phones it has a decent battery life 3 days without a charge.
it is under contract, i pay £45 a month for this i get £180 worth of calls and texts pic messages ect, i also get unlimited internet access.
As i said i have had it a year now and i am on it all day and have never exceeded my price plan to the amazment of all around me.
I personally think it is the best deal on the market at the mo having looked into lots of other packages at the time.
I droped my phone back in july while the flood were going on and needed a replacement.
T-mobile had a new phone to me with-in 12 hours delivered to my door!!
Now that is service.
If you call t-mobile from your phone you get an instant answer from the dedicated biz team no listening to green sleeves.
In all a great phone!.

ParticipantRe: Essential parts to always carry
i have managed to fill my renault traffic to the top so far, it worth keeping lots of elements as they are big money earners allways good to make there and then.
brushs, doorboots, interlocks, hotpoint and zanussi tumble states are all good to keep, i have also started keeping zanussi 3 turn elements (ele6336) as i have found this fit baumatics and all sorts even credas, neff 2 turn elements never stay on the van long.
new hoses i only stock 2.5 metre ones as they fit a multitude of jobs also with the valve i usally only change the soloniod seems to sort the problem with the minimum of fuss.
door handle and hinges especially servis and indesit you can normally get most parts at special prices if bought in bulk.
i do keep motors and a few modules but it all comes with time.
never order a special order part without pointing out to the customer they will be paying for it no matter what as these are rarely returnable!!!.good luck!
