A bit of a delayed reply but yesterday I was using the grill and yes there was a noticeable push of air from above the grill door. Oven was on 150ish, 2 hobs on 5/6 and grill cut out, turned off for 2-3 mins and it finished off OK.

One thing, whilst looking at the manual I see it says grill with the door shut which we don’t (a hangover from our previous gas grill which safety cut out with the door shut). That couldn’t be tripping it, could it?

Does it have one in the grill, where would I look for it? There was a gentle hum when I turned it on just now but not what I would call fan noise.

I bought an LG just over 4 years ago because it had a 5yr warranty, worked great while we had it. At about 3.5 years we noticed the top got unusually hot and had a slight smell so I called an engineer, when he took the lid off it had burnt through the casing of what I believe was the element. Now he did say at the time some joints didn’t look normal (excess silicon) and he wondered if it had been returned and repaired.

To be fair to LG they investigated and gave me a full refund. I have now bought another LG again with 5yr warranty, make of that what you will!

Yes, not huge amounts normally drains about and inch or so into a medium bowl.

Sorry I didn’t say, this is an integrated model. On the sides are 2 plastics ‘bottles’ for want of a description, I can see pipes running into them but no apparent way to remove them.

    Re: LG Washer Dryer

Thanks for the comments, I read the links and started to doubt my choices so I still haven’t purchased yet. The Zanussi has a leaking door seal at 6 we can see the hole. The error code is all 5 lights flashing together, I did run a diagnostic but cant remember the result now. I still think it’s time to change just a question of what to!

    Re: ZWF1221 Drum Seal Replacement

I will give it a try but I’m going to decide on a replacement machine first, if I cant do it I’ll just get a next day delivery.

Even with the machine on it’s back and the door off giving more work space I still cant see how I will get my (fat!) fingers into the gap inside the block but nothing ventured etc.

I really don’t want to concede defeat because other than this it runs OK for a 7yr old machine but equally it’s a bit like a fridge you cant be without one for more than a few days.

    Re: ZWF1221 Drum Seal Replacement

I think I’m about to fail on all counts then!

Even with the unit tilted back to get more drum access I can’t see an easy way to get my fingers in the gap between the drum lip and the concrete weight.

Out of curiosity I called Electrolux and got quoted £120 as a start point for the repair. I might just as well buy a new machine for £300 and not worry about any future problems.

If there is then a sensor fault is a possibility as is the defrost heater along with the defrost timer being a strong candidate as the culprit, if there’s no ice build up then you’re left with the defrost timer again or the compressor.
Thanks for the advice, didn’t have a chance to fully look at it last night but I did notice inside the freezer compartment had a good coat of ice down the back wall. One thing I did think was the last couple of weeks I turned the temp up higher than usual, maybe I have pre-empted a fault. My plan is to turn it off for a whole day, let it defrost properly then try it again, clutching at straws I know!

Is there any easy way to test the defrost timer/heater, and do you know where it might be on my model?

    TIA
