ParticipantWell…. sorted quickly fortunately! It was a flake of stone about 20mm across caught in the filter. What threw me was that it was also noisy when not draining. But I think the pump must also recirculate water so operates during wash cycle. Anyhow.. fixed now!

Well, you are right again. Got the hose off – pretty yucky, cleaned and replaced and now fills nicely and seems AOK.
Thanks so much for all the help – much appreciated.TFC

haven’t checked hose, cos I thought water was pumping out OK. But I guess may be part blocked. Not sure how to access stuff under machine. Have had side panels off OK. Do I have to tip it over? Gonna hit the hay now, so another installment tomorrow. BTW, i read on another post someone tried to blow back down the waste to check if clear. This is s trick I’ve used before for wash machines. Tried this and no way Hose. Or Hose B. Sorry, getting punchy. Thanks all.

Quick follow on – not trying to bump. Sorted the microswitch position – front end of it sits under the pegs, not with pegs in holes. Rod now actuates switch OK. Dont think solves the main problem though, so the queries in my previous post still stand please.

Right. Put back together, but not sure I’m any better off.
Before i forget, I notice that the red rod, which looks as though it could trip the microswitch when lifted, doesnt seem to do this when lifted manually – not quite enough movement. Is this OK?
Anyhow, when I run it, the matrix fills and the float lifts which seems to shut inlet off when switch trips. Thats fine, but then the pump starts, and immediately some water is lost from the outlet hose. So the float drops, inlet switched back on till trips again, then pump starts and again water is lost from outlet. This is why is seem to “cycle” when filling.
Should water be lost in this way? Also, with previous DWs I’ve had, the tray at the bottom fills with a few cms depth of water. There doesnt seem to be much at all in this Bosch – maybe its retained underneath.
Another thing – if I let it run so that its pumping/washing, and then stop it and do a reset, I’d expect it to completely empty – but although the pump seem to work OK only about 2 litres come out of outlet hose. Does’t seem much. Any ideas?TFC

Spot on! Float looks gungy, but not sure if would be enough to stop it working. Giving it a clean, and will post back when tested. Ta

OK have got the brute stripped. Top of matrix has section which looks cruddy, but water level control looks suspect. Have liftd out matrix, but cant work out how to remove float unit. Does this unit lift out, or do you clean it in situ? Rapid response appreciated, as need to put back together B4 close of play! Ta

OK thanks. Just a thought – we never use the hot wash – is it possible that running this might help clear things? Is there any cleaning fluid I could add?
Also, the manual doesnt seem to say how long the various cycles should take, so I’m not sure what to expect. Any ideas? Thanks.TFC
ParticipantRe: Hoover Dryer Problem
OK thanks very much for prompt (and free!) help and advice. Saved me the cost of a dryer!

Thank you Penguin45 – spot on. Heater now works fine. Only slight snag is that whilst re-setting stat trip, I may have rotated it also – look like this will adjust trip point. Is there an easy way eg voltage reading to reset to default? (I have meters etc)
One other thing – fan really needs replacing as you say – where is best place to source part, and also is there is an easy way to access cos the screws which release motot/fan assy from the condensor housing are not accessible from the back of the machine. Thanks plenty, TFC
