Can you or anybody else supply an exploded diagram of the control panel,and are the 4 larger
and 5 smaller knobs just pull off. I notice there are 2 phillips type screws on the underside of the control panel.

I fitted a used Candy PCB that I bought for £20, code number 40008456. The last 4 digits of the code number were different to my faulty board. The machine now works.
(faulty PCB number is 40005951)
Can you say where you bought the power relay- RT334012F – as I fancy having a go at repairing the faulty PCB and putting the original PCB back
in the tumble dryer

Thanks Dave. – What are your views on buying a £50+ replacement part (PCB) for this machine,
when it is possible to go out to a second hand repair shop and probably buy a more recent working
tumble dryer for £60+. – I wonder why domestic appliances parts suppliers ,stock expensive parts,
when it is probably uneconomical to repair.

Engineer called today and diagnosed the problem as a faulty fan element. He had a replacement in the van.

Got a reply from Smeg Customer Service after I completed their online repair form. The form is on- http://WWW.smeg-service.co.uk – and the e mail is
info@smeg-service.co.uk. – I’ll not be ringing their premium rate tele number again. The reply indicated a service engineer would contact me.

If your Belling is from the late 1960s and has all its facilities,just like mine,well done. I’m under pressure to buy a replacement,even though everything works.–50years old!!–

My upper grill/oven door stays up with no problems.
If you want to investigate,remove both sides of the cooker –4 screws –and if u get this far it should be obvious what needs to be tightened or adjusted.

having removed the control module from the front of the machine,and sent it off to Nottingham for testing,it came back marked “No fault found” On certain settings the water level came half way up the door,which i thought was overfill. When I removed the pressure switch. tube and the pressure vessel I found a lot of sludge in the pressure vessel. After cleaning I went against my better judgement, and turned the plastic screw on top of the pressure switch, which seemed to reduce the amount of water in the drum.This has cost me £13.40 for a replacement switch. Also the testing procedure that I refered to earlier,, suggested you should hear a click, which I didn’t , I have also replaced the brushes onthe motor which were completly worn down. Sooooo when I get the replacement switch I hope the machine will work again. —- Having Googled some more i think what is inside the pressure switch is a “ferrite core” and as you said, there would be no click when testing.

Thanks for your reply.I won’t be blowing into the air inlet,of the replacement switch when it comes.I had Googled’How to test the water level Switch” and it said ……. now blow gently into the pressure connection and retest (electrically) it should click.
I can’t see how it switches. With the 3 terminals, i expected to see changeover contacts
Any further info on how it works to help my understanding, would be appreciated.

Re: White Westinghouse Ceramic Hob

The energy regulators that I ended up buying as an alternative to MSA 312-KS was MSA V01-C and it worked satisfactorily on each of the 3 faulty ceramic hob rings over the 9 heat settings on the rotary switches. Is there not a trade referance book that would give replacement or alternative energy regulators for ones that are no longer available? It would have saved me a lot of time getting my sisters hob – White Westinghouse 05-800224– back in service.
