Re: Bosch WTA 3000 dryer front panel removal

Wish I’d known where you were on Friday, I would have have done just that! Father has just phoned me and he thinks the guy has broken a bit of the new part I gave him – just gets worse!

    Thanks for the offer.

    😕

Just had an email from Dave in Spares and he suggests I ask if anyone has a better copy of the Whirpools instruction leaflet for the switch.

Thanks Martin, I agree with you. And if I knew the dismantling procedure I too think it common sense to work out which wire goes where. Any chance you could talk me through it (I don’t mean this w/e!) or send instructions?
    Thanks 😯

The switch would not stay on, it had been getting less reliable over the last few weeks, and then finally wouldn’t stay in for the ‘on’ position.

I don’t know exactly what has been done so far as I’m now back home in Banbury, but the machine has been left unworkable.

Having checked the part – I’m assured it is the right one I got from you, which suggests that the chap who came to fix it didn’t have any experience with this part/appliance.

So maybe I should contact him to cancel him ordering the part, which he can’t do until Tuesday, it being the Bank Holiday – I know I shouldn’t have started this saga on a BH w/e!

Please if anyone does have any knowledge of changing an on/off push switch. I will be so very grateful.

    Thanks 😕

This is the part I ordered.

    http://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/Tumble+D … witch.html

The photocopy that came with it was really unclear and almost impossible to read. And it is headed ‘Instruction Dryer Condenser’ and of course the WTA 3000 is vented.

I’m now in a sticky situation as the engineer will want paying for 2 visits plus his part which will be over £100 and as he said to me the machine is 2001, gets well used, and could be on the way out.

Advice would be most welcome. PLEASE 😥

Re: Bosch WTA 3000 dryer front panel removal

    It’s been a bad day!
Not wanting to break anything, I decided that it was best to get an engineer, so contacted a local who had also been highly recommended. He arrived on time, took one look at the part and said it was the wrong one! He phoned his supplier who confirmed that it was for a condensing dryer, and the Bosch WTA 3000 is vented. So he has ordered the part and hopes it will arrive next week.

Have done that – next step is a puzzle , bit like one of those chinese puzzles – simple when you know what to do next!

My father lives not far away in Holland Road, but no worries as the switch is working, although on the way out. Thanks for trying. 🙂

Thanks for the tip, just a slight problem, no engineers listed on your site that cover Brighton or Hove. Is that really the case or is the system having a sicky?! 🙁

Re: Gas Boiler Service – Hove

He has a Baxi Solo 3, 60PF, this only does the radiators as he is in a flat with communal hot water. He has their Homecare 200 which they are charging him £272.66 p.a.
I also found out that he had an annual cover for his only other gas appliance, a gas hob for £99.80p.a. – this I think is a complete waste of money.

I think it’s a case of being sold more than he needs, he 87 now and hasn’t kept up with all has outgoings. Hence me trying to get the best deal for him.

    Any suggestions very welcome.

Re: Gorenje Hotpoint Ovens I’m confused!

    BIG THANKS

A great help, have read link on extraction and would hope to find a powerful 90 wide one to intergrate into the ceiling, so could have a trickle flow to keep air circulating in the room too.

The Neff hob looks lovely – if I can afford it. Like the magnetic knob.

I thought the AEG was better too.

    Venetia 😀
