    Re: Hotpoint WM61P

have not tried it since the solder repair on the blown track. but have a new interlock and element on order. found it strange that the element/interlock/blown track all seem to happen at once. should i proceed to replace both and try it then. Thanks

P.S. can i email re the trade access?

    Re: Hotpoint WM11P running on

dont fully understand about the stages/clicks/term numbers but i tried the spin only and tapping pressure switch.i have run all cycles many times since and machine still runs on occasionally, for example worked fine on 40 wash twice but on 3rd wash, ran on. Same when i use spin only,ok sometimes then runs on occasionally. could i take it from this its most likely the timer.
EMW sell these timers, reasonable price. the pressure switch for this perticular machine is quite expensive.
    Many thanks for your help.

    Thanks K,

Re: Flashing lifght Hotpoint Aquarius WF320

by the option buttons can i take it you mean the 5 vertical on the right near the powder tray?? 1=wash enhance,2=reduced creases,3=rinse hold,4=mini load,5=extra rinse. counting these from top down 1,2,3,4 are flashing rapidly while light on 5 is off.
by the way the 5 horizontal buttons i mentioned earlier are the opposite: 1,2,3,4,off and 5 flashing(counting from left to right)
checked heater element with multimeter,ok for continuity and a reading of 30ohms.

did you swap pump with a new one.? if its not new it may be as bad as the old one.! how did you check for power? a multimeter? sounds strange! need to know a bit more.

    Re: Washing machine motor repair

i’ve done quite a few older hotpoints and they were always sweated on with little splines.attach a small bearing pullers to the pulley, avoid trying to bring the bearing with it,tap it back out of your way if you have to.! with pullers attached apply some pressure and some rapid heat directly on pulley only, keep applying a little more pressure as you heat.
your heat source should be from a small but rapid heat nozzle.
very important—- wear safety specs.!! and have some cold water ready to dip the pulley shaft in(not the comm though)
on the odd occasion i’ve broken one on removal, but that can be ok as most motors, even modern, have same pulley.
you can pick up another from another old motor. Good Luck…

kwatt wrote:It will only be available as a full motor spare part wise and, knowing Whirlpool, you’ll need oxygen handy for when you get a price on it.

I’d need the PNC number from the rating plate to locate the part for you or a price but I’d expect the thick end or £130-200 for a Whirlpool motor.

    K.
thanks kwatt, ive replaced bearings before in older Hotpoints and was wondering if the same might do here? thats if it is the bearings.!! not worth repairing if it costs £130-£200.?
