    Hi Dave,
    Apologies for the late reply.
I’ve only just got it in front of me.
I’ve attached a pic (which I can’t actually seem to upload) – could you point me in the right direction as to where I can find this part in your pic? And some guidance how to access it if it’s not too much trouble?

    Thanks in advance.

yours is the older one with the float on the pump

its mounted left hand side rear at the bottom. you have to remove left side to access which is a bit tricky as front control panel has to come off to get all the screws

you will find its gummed up and needs cleaning

    Thanks Dave.
Doesn’t sound too bad to be honest.
    Will it just need cleaning?
Is there any situation where it will need replacing?

Apologies I have since found out that it is a Siemens and not a Bosch.
My mistake as I could have sworn it was a Bosch, but the number is WT46E381GB

None taken and I’m pleased the problem was finally resolved. 8)

It appears I spoke to soon, as although it completed that first wash it is doing the same again, and now sometimes with the door open, so I have removed the float off the bottom to test in case it was the float switch because there is no water in the bottom.

Any ideas, or is it looking like the PCB has gone?

Thanks everyone for there help on this.
Just for anyone else with a similar problem – I should have taken notice of Martin sooner, as a new flow meter did resolve this issue.

Thanks, and appologies if you took offense Martin. It wasnt intended.

    No.

You asked for expert help and we gave it. Your choice… 🙁

    Martin,
Why are you being like that?
I did ask for expert advise, but have I done anything that goes against the advise you have given me?

If you feel I have please say?

Sorry, didnt see your reply – am desperate to get it working so went to maplins and brought a reed switch there – fitted it and no change.

Do you really think that a new part would be any different – I cant see that it would???

I realise the part is not that expensive, but I was desperate to get it fixed, and obviously if I can get it fixed cheaper than buying a new part then its a bonus. It really wasnt that difficult either, also I wasnt convinced after testing it either.

Is there really anything else it could be?

kwatt wrote:Usually as they spin they send an impulse to the board and a magnet is what the little board will sense spinning around.

If it doesn’t sense the spinning of the rotor inside, it won’t work.

How did you test it with a magnet? And, even at that, is it not possible that the magnet you used to test could be way stronger then the little one in the flow meter as it will be tiny I should imagine and not powerful at all?

    K.

I can see what your saying Kwatt. I may give it a go – trying to fit a new reed switch in it then. I have seen these on ebay, and it looks about the same spec:

Worth giving it a go as I am a bit handy with a soldering iron.

    Hi Martin,
I removed the flow meter, and was curious to see how it worked so removed the circuit board, and all it consists of is a reed switch basically, so tested it with a magnet, and it appears to work. Could it be anything else?

    Cheers

The fill chamber is usually on one of the sides, the pressure switch or sensor should be in the base somewhere.

Thanks for your help, Can you recommend anyone on here that may be able to advise me?

How do I go about locating, and testing these to rule them out?
