If you imagine the 600mm oven housing which the oven sits on below worktop….guess its mdf of sorts with a veneer. The base of this which the oven sits on is charred in areas. The oven does sit off it on feet, and there is ventilation to rear and at top of oven where it sits just under worktop.

I will try and post a picture of an example when I download them.

Thanks for the response – actually found that after posting. Am in two minds on what to do now. I gather freezers are probably a slightly better chance of suceeding than fridge freezers. Whats annoying is that none of the online stores seem to give the rating – n, sn, etc.

Got a local store could use so may see if they are more forthcoming with their information not being a corporate company.

If raising up on timbers is there a chance that any condensate that runs off the outer skin soaks into the timber and then tracks back up into the insulation? When I have read about the insulation getting wet and writing off the freezer I presume this is around the outer walls?

However. maybe using timber instead of using a water proof material around the timber would mean it would soak into the timber rather than pooling and wrecking the freezer or at least increasing its shelf life??

Would never buy a Samsung washing machine again….more callouts than I care to think about and no help whatsoever from Comet. Domestic & General engineers who kept coming out to repair said it was a very poor design and no one wanted to take ownership of the problem
