ParticipantRe: hotpoint tdc60 tumbledryer fault
Seen this happen twice on my tdc60. the Heater relay on the dryness module was stuck closed, which means if the door is clised, the heater is on, irrespective of whether the machine is running or not. the one-shot failsafe thermostat then
blows.I’ve also seen report of the direction relay being faulty so reverse doesn’t work.
If you can solder, it’s possible to replace the relays,I picked up equivalent relays from Farnell for a few pounds, which was cheaper than a new module.
I’ve also found used modules on ebay too.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint TDC60 (changed thermostats)
My TDC60 blew the thermostats recently, which I replaced, only to have them blow again.
Ive finally tracked the problem down to the heater relay on the main board (dryness module) which has failed in the ON position.
The result being that the heater is on ALL the time, even when the door is open.
A main board is £86 from hotpoint, however i have sourced the same 16A (Schrack RT314024) relay from farnell (RS also have the similar RTD314024) for £3. You will neet to be handy with a soldering iron though, as this is not a consumable part. It is attached to the dryness module via 8 pins
Not fitted it yet, will update when it arrives.
