Zhang Ruimin, CEO of Chinese white goods maker Haier Group, has just been awarded as one of the 50 most respected business leaders in the world. Financial Times, one of the authoritative British financial news media, released the rankings on Monday, with Microsoft CEO Bill Gates topping the list.
Zhang was the only Chinese entrepreneur on the list, ranking No.26. Editorial from Financial Times said that Haier is one of the several successful Chinese examples to build brand overseas. Haier achieved 2 billion US Dollars of revenue overseas during 2004. And this year, the January to September sales has already exceeded last year’s sales record.
