Haier is said to be selling its refrigerator plant in Romania as part of a plan to streamline its production activities in Europe.
The Romanian plant is located on a 130,000sq m site in the industrial area of southern commune Aricestii Rahtivani, Prahova.
“As part of a global business strategy review, the company recently decided to reorganize its manufacturing activities in Europe and discontinue the operations at the Romania plant that led to its subsequent sale,” the press release readas. “The Colliers team will provide end-to-end advisory throughout the transaction process, from property marketing and transaction management support to negotiating contractual terms leading to the sale.”
Haier announced at the start of the year that it will close down the plant, after it had already made redundant 40% of its 1,000 employees there in 2024.
