UK Whitegoods just had its first birthday! Yes, a year ago at this very moment the site was launched officially to the world.
Over the past year we’ve endevoured to keep the site interesting, entertaining and informative and I sincerely hope that we have managed to attain that goal as well as bring a little respect back into the industry.
This past twelve months has seen some turbulent times for our industry and there has been casualties along the way and I think I speak for all at UKW in offering our sympathies for those that have suffered in the industry. Hopefully some of what has been said and written here has helped lighten dark times and provide some hope.
As many of you are aware UK Whitegoods has evolved in twelve months quite dramatically and will continue to do so we hope offering a fresh perspective on current affairs within the whitegoods industry.
We have seen some absolutely brilliant information and advice being offered by trade members to the public here, good solid advice that I’m sure many a manufacturer is proud to see being provided by their agents and representatives. I consider it an honour to have these repairers posting the information they do and, so well, on UK Whitegoods.
As for the traffic we’ve gotten in the past twelve months, well quite frankly both Dave Conway and myself are astounded at the level of interest in the site and not just from within the industry either, from the public too, even from all corners of the globe.
For all the skeptics that thought that UKW was a mere “flash in the pan” and would die, well it hasn’t! In fact it has grown into what is rapidly becoming the website for information on whitegoods in the UK and recieves daily interest from all around the world. This comes down to the dedication of the members from the trade and the admin and moderators of the website and you all deserve the credit for the success of UK Whitegoods.
Here’s looking forward to a better industry for the trade and the public alike and a brighter future for us all taking part in it.
Well done Ken and everybody. May I just add that you have created a community amongst us; a God send in what can be a rather solitary profession.
