This little snippet almost escaped us but, not quite as reports indicate that Homespares, which distributes spare parts for domestic appliances and consumables to trade, has bought Exserve based in Peterborough.
The deal will bring Exserve’s distribution facility in Peterborough under Homespares control, meaning customers will be able to have access to a wider product range including Homespares own label brands.
Homespares managing director Kirk Whitehead said: “We’re looking for ways to lower prices, widen our product range and offer the simplest, easiest shopping experience because that’s what our customers want.
“We believe the acquisition of Exserve accelerates our progress across these priorities.”
Homespares employs about 50 staff from its Bolton headquarters and supplies a wide range of products to national retailers such as supermarkets, DIY, electrical and home furnishing stores.
