Appliance giant, The Indesit Company SpA, expects to post pretax profits for 2006 of around 150 million euros Forbes has reported, above the group’s forecast of 145 million. After poor results in 2005 this is being seen as the company bouncing back.

Indesit Company’s Aqualtis washing machine achieved a five-star score in the Australian Standard Test’s Water Rating. The Ariston-brand appliance was the first washer to get this top-level score. The unit was launched in Australia in September and has been well received by customers.

Indesit Company said third quarter 2006 sales were 871 million euros, up 5 percent on third-quarter 2005 sales. Indesit also reported net profits: 23 million euros, up 127 percent on 2005.
