Whirlpool Layoffs & Tariffs
Last month there was a snippet of news about layoffs at Whirlpool in the US and this was reportedly just some administrative jobs and not a lot so no big deal.

CES 2025

Price Fixing Nets €611 Fines
Reuters reports that twelve appliance firms and distributors have been fined €611 million (£507 million) for price fixing in France from 2007 to 2014, including big names such as Electrolux, Whirlpool and LG.
TCL Launch Fridge Freezers
TCL is launching side-by-side fridge freezer models here in the UK, and they’re kicking off with two models that can be more or less built-in, with no need for an air gap on either side of the unit.

Bosch Matter Enabled
Bosch have announced that they are to offer Matter-enabled appliances, starting with a fridge freezer model that will be available as Bosch and Siemens.
Miele Does Repairability?
At IFA this year, not much happened, so don’t worry if you missed it, but Miele has stated that it’s committed to what it calls “circularity projects.” These projects involve reuse, repairability, and so on, but is it all just hype?
BSH Partners With Gulp
It is very likely that you have never heard of the Bristol-based Matter company or their Gulp microplastics filter product but, they’ve partnered up with BSH (Bosch, Neff, Siemens) to launch this new filter to market.
