Hurriyet reports that Vestel, the Turkish appliance manufacturer, has bought four brands previously owned by the now defunct Antonio Merloni company of Italy. It seems that the Servis name may once again rise from the ashes.

Vestel Beyaz Esya Sanayi & Ticaret AS, is a Turkish household appliances maker owned by Zorlu Holding AS, acquired four brands from Italy’s Antonio Merloni SpA, Hurriyet reported, citing Vestel Deputy Chief Executive Turan Erdogan. They manufacture appliances, particularly washing machines, for many brands including Panasonic, Next and many others inteh UK.
The company, has reportedly now bought the Servis, Electra, Atlantic and New Pol home appliance brands and plans to raise annual exports to $1 billion a year in three years from a forecast $750 million this year, reported the Istanbul newspaper. Given those expectations we would anticipate that the brands wil be resurrected and new appliances badged with these brands will be sold into territories across Europe.
