    Re: golocal reactive

    It’s a bit odd that.

It looks to me like a simple directory site that is trying to, I dunno, be something other than just a simple directory site.

Someone’s been working with the site that has a clue about web promotion though.

But, apart from that it doesn’t look good. Complete lack of content, missing Privacy Policy, missing T&Cs no details on ownership or even any reasonable contact, not even a postal address or pretty much anything bar the non-geographical phone number.

The site is also cloned many, many times onto different URLs and all seem to be the same deal from heater and boiler repairs, tyre fitting services and all manners of different things.

My guess would be that it’s someone trying to hoover up a heap of enquiries then charge the local trades people for the leads. Or, take a cut of any revenues generated.

mm seems they are a waste of time turns out they charge £88 plus vat for first hour thenn 66 every hour after! what seems odd they have not vetted me or anything but willing to send me over cant help but think they will be poor payers?? as customer has not paid up front whats to stop me from telling the customer not to waste his money with a middle man??

    Re: golocal reactive

What a scam! The T&Cs, privacy policy etc. all have links in tiny text at the bottom of page and when you click on them you just get a 404. As they say they are “accredited with the Guild of Master Craftsmen” it might be interesting to contact that august :rotfl: institution.

    Re: golocal reactive

Wish I’d read this before sort of agreeing to take on a no drain washer job 12 miles away 😕
They’ve emailed me the job sheet but if theres little chance of a payout then I’ll just bin it.

I felt sorry for the customer stuck in the middle so gave her a quick call today and left a message stating basically that I didn’t trust the outfit & was not willing to work with them.

Anyone know where I stand legally if I do the job for her and get paid directly… kinda pinching the job I verbally agreed to do through them 😀

They caught me early morn when I was half asleep, thought their name sounded familiar. oops. 😳

I posted this in the other thread, but for the benifit of those here, i’ll paste it in.

Hey guys, Daniel from Go local Reactive LTD here.

I wanted to join to try and clear a few things up and it’s easier in a public forum to make one statement to all concerned.

I’ll start at the top and work down.

We are a fairly new company, started by myself in my bedroom back in April 2010. It was just an idea and i didn’t have any working knowledge so kind of learnt as i went. The grand plan is to (one day) be like the AA and able to offer any service to anyone in the UK, any time. Thats obviously, a hell of a way off but Soon enough i needed help and took the usual route of hiring someone. Back then and for a while after, we were working with Mike from msappliances. Good guy, and to be fair to him we were massively disorganised and it probably was a real hassle to work with us. This was a result of us working with one pc, one desk and a phone. Nothing else.

To clarify things website wise, golocalreactive.co.uk is not finished, we get most of our work from the web and that site is not designed to pick up enquiries so its getting finished last. The main appliance site is go-localuk.co.uk.

We did recently move office. This was due to the company we leased our space from (mad about cards ltd) going into liquidation. As it was a sudden move we had no phone lines in the new space so had to wait for BT and only had them installed Friday last week. During this time we were pretty incontestable… it was a real kerfuffle.

We don’t try to dodge paying for anything but we could certainly be more organised and i think this is a bit of a failing overall. We still operate from a tiny office with a handfull of staff and we’re still learning as we go. I apologise if anyones had a rough ride with us.

I hope that clears things up, at least a little.

    Re: golocal reactive

Ok, so I received a call from Daniel (golocal) this afternoon in response to my post.
Basically, he feels his company has been unfairly portrayed and any bad experiences suffered were mainly down to this being a new venture and the teething troubles this often brings.

I have agreed to give golocal a chance and will do the job they offered should the customer get back in touch. So far she has not.

    Re: golocal reactive

Its ok Eddie. I can see where people are coming from and hey, we all want to make sure we are going to get the money we work hard to earn.

Its all experience and hopefully through here we can get some nice working relationships.

Laurence, I’ll take a read through properly tomorrow but it looks interesting.

P.s. in the post above, it should read we started in April 2011, not 2010

Golocal – Shoeburyness, Essex. The only way is bust???

    Tried to contact them today:
Phone number on their website – “We’re not taking any more service calls this week, please contact us by email or via the website”
Phone number on their email – “This voicemail box is full”

Work done 23rd December 2011, chased payment of invoice (for the 3rd time) on 5th March. Was assured that payment would be made on the 19th – shame he didn’t specify the the month or year.

Luckily (?) we only had one job outstanding, but it’s a shame that the local Salvation Army has paid top dollar for work that we won’t be getting paid for any time soon….

Hardly surprising they don’t want to answer the phones, looks like the Bailiffs might be calling on them very soon, or worst still this can lead to a Winding Up Petition being presented in the very near future.

    Re: golocal reactive

Suppose we should be grateful that we were only stung for one job. Lesson learned from bitter experience – don’t think we’ll be taking work from any more of these outfits!
