To Ken and Kevin
Thankyou both but no favortism. You both do a good job so share and share alike.
I’m still at work, wont knock off till 23.30 as still sorting out spares. Racking not turned up. Only three weeks late but never mind.
I will be back in the office 07:30 till 9:00 and then i’m on the road with thirteen calls. Will be back in the office about 18:30 – 19:00

I was just wondering if it would be worth me signing up so I have gone through this whole thread to see if my principal postcode areas (AB56 and IV30) appeared but I did not see them, despite there being no coverage in these places. Is there a full list I can access somewhere to check properly?

KeymasterHi Phidom,
Without trawling through numerous Excel files, no. 😉
Dave did a map recently and I know that there were a few up that way but I didn’t take a note of the postcodes.

KeymasterOn the last batch there was a missed call in Elgin, IV30, but I can’t see what product it was.

Due to this I did a little exercise this afternoon and pulled of the figures for the last six months, bear in mind that coverage has been improving through that period, but…
We’ve logged 2604 calls in total to Repairs@
Quite simply that’s staggering given the low level of promotion it gets.
Of that there are only 814 calls successfully passed, again, remember that the coverage has improved quite dramatically with some people that have signed on in the last week recieving calls already.
So, since I had it all to hand anyway I decided to map the hits and misses.
As I suspected the outer regions seem to get less calls than the high density areas, but in low density areas due to sparsness there also seems to be a fair number of net users looking. Like Scotland, Northern England and also Wales getting low volumes.
However, by the same token there seems to be a few people getting a nice regular stream of work (eh Bryan as, according to my stats you’ve had 169 calls! ;)) from the system which is brilliant.
I wonder how the first six months of 2006 will fare when we actually start telling people about it in earnest.

The new server should handle it I reckon 😉

Do I have to fill in the call charges section on the form or can I leave this blank? I have a callout charge which varies with distance and covers the first hour, an hourly rate after the first hour and set prices for certain jobs so would not want to commit to a simplified pricing structure.

KeymasterYes, there is no absolute need for that it’s only for general information.

You are listed on their Richard, it’s just that you happen to be on the end of it! 😕
The Repairs@ system at present leaves it to the customer to choose a name from that list, unfortunately in an area covered by several companies, as in your case, you may lose the odd call to someone else? 🙁
Now if that call isn’t taken up by ‘the other company’ the system will not pick that up. It falls on the customer to re-access Repairs@ to choose another and so on 🙄
The system is fully automated and cannot be monitored or interrupted manually, therefore the odd call does indeed slip through the net 😯

Most are also very old calls that were “lost” before we had anyone covering certain postcodes, as you are now listed none should slip through really as the customer will email admin if they don’t get contacted and we will then pass the details of another repairer in that area 🙂
